Agree with every written word about Hobi. He is so unique yet so underrated if you ask me. Love all his lyrics so much…. And the flow…. He can change the flow dozen times in one minute and be so smooth with it. And almost all the parts he gets are my faves. Like in “Outro Tear”, “Ugh”, “Outro Wings” etc…. Love this man

This album was BTS' hail mary, and it quite literally pulled them out of the depths.

They all knew this could be their last shot. And their 1st Daesang (grand prize) award was in 2016 w/ BS&T in Wings, their 1st full album I believe.

2024-01-09 20:47:50 +0000 UTCThe I need u music video is rlly complicated to understand because it is a part of the bts universe (aka BU), but I would say you kinda got a picture of it. So basically jin is a time traveler ish and each member has different struggles so for example Tae had an abusive dad which he killed, Jimin's little brother drowned so that's why you'll see Jimin with water, Yoongi and the fire/burning etc. And the members are in a friend group and their happiest moments are when they're together, but when they're apart everything starts spiraling in their lives. Jin basically travels back in time each time a member suffers to save and change the situation/outcome of the situation and each time he fails he goes back in time again. This is just the overview of it ig but there is so much more, it expands through the mvs, small stories, a game, webtoons etc

2024-01-09 15:21:37 +0000 UTCj-hope's a little harder to get a handle on. I think Joon and Yoongi, you get a pretty clear idea of what they do and what they're about quickly because they both have very defined spaces and styles. But Joon once said j-hope is like water because he adapts to fill whatever space they need. He often gets unique parts in songs and comes onto tracks sideways and you never really hear the same thing from him twice so it takes people a lot longer to pull out signatures. They're there...but there's just such a wide range. We say he's one-of-one a lot in the fandom. Even with his lyrics...Yoongi is so direct and raw and Joon is poetic and erudite, but Hobi writes bars that are like multi-dimensional word clouds (we usually get some simply translated version of them). We have websites and accounts that break down lyrics and there are always paragraphs under j-hope's bars because there's so much wordplay and so many references that rely on obscure context or internal production or adlib hints. Anyway, I think you're right on the musicality and flow being an important, recognizable part of his craft. But like I said, it just takes a lot more samplings of his work to start putting together a clear picture of j-hope the rapper.

2024-01-09 15:09:23 +0000 UTChttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KonKFssKnM&t=9s I think this video will give you all the answers on when and how BTS became a household name. It's such a good documentary style video that goes through each album and what it did for their career and building up to their future success. It's quite long but such an enjoyable watch even for someone that don't know them. Also, you have heard "Dope" from Run BTS. Jungkook's part "Ayo Ladies and Gentlemen" was the Intro in early Run BTS episodes

2024-01-09 06:34:57 +0000 UTCBoyz with fun is absolutely iconic, you should definitely check out a live performance. I would say this album was the start of them starting to be recognized more in Korea, Wings (2016) was then the album that really proved that a group from a small company could win major awards against the bigger companies, Love Yourself: Her (2017) really launched them globally with their performances on American award and talk shows, Map of the Soul: Persona (2019) really made them become more known to the general public, and Dynamite (2020) solidified them as a household name even to people that don't listen to kpop.
