Last little thing and sorry for the multiple comments lol. Sokka and Katara’s dad is not dead, he just left years ago with the other men of the tribe to fight the Fire Nation. The one who is 100% dead is the mom.

2025-08-22 11:28:30 +0000 UTCAlso, if the comet comes every 100 years, it was probably a normal occurrence that everyone in the world knew about. It just never occurred to anyone that the Fire Nation would use the comet to start a war because the world had always had an Avatar to make sure that all nations remained in balance. So you have a Fire Lord with ambitious evil plans that can’t be realized because there is basically a god that can stop him. That god dies and is supposed to be reincarnated into an airbender, who turns out to be Aang, but Aang is just a little kid, so the comet comes at the perfect timing to attack all the Air Temples to get rid of the Avatar or at least restart the cycle and gain some time.
