Today, I finally sat down and did a test run on my Huion Kamvas Pro 13, tracing over art I've generated beforehand, just to get a handle on the hardware and software that I am going to use. These are the results.
I feel the blue bikini girl comes out best, even though it is the first drawing attempt I did. On the second attempt, the red dress, I was paying too much attention on some technical details and functions of the software to arrive at a satisfying result. Oh well.
I am using Clip Studio Paint Pro 2.0.6, for those of you who are curious. This is my first time really sitting down and trying to understand the software, though. I am much more used to something like Affinity Photo, but I am unsure how viable it is as a drawing software, so I am planning on teaching myself Clip Studio Paint in the coming months.
Would you play a visual novel drawn in this sort of style? Don't worry, I'll keep practicing and get better at it. I need to develop the correct motor skills to have a good confident pen stroke first. If you think this sort of content is interesting, let me know, so that I can decide if I will share more of my progress in the future.
