Don't Flex On Me Yumi-Chan Build 0.0.2 : IT'S ALIVE!

So I have received the animation commission for Yumi-chan's debut CG earlier this week, and it was looking great. However, I felt like it wasn't going as far as I wanted, and so I tasked myself with giving it a shot with the tools I have at my disposal.

After two days of finagling, this is what I came up with. Using an abandoned software called Pic2Jelly, I managed to create something with a bit more bounce. Although it isn't perfect : on a full screen, you might notice some annoying little artefacts added by the software itself. Still, for a first version, it's not so bad, and pretty eye-catching.

You can download Build 0.0.2 of Don't Flex On Me Yumi-Chan by clicking here.

Please note that the ONLY change from build 0.0.1 are the animations, and maybe a few details here and there (one turn of phrase, one smoother transition at the very end before the game returns to the main menu, etc). Still, I felt like the animations were worth it.

Let me know what you think, if the animations come out well or not. Pic2Jelly does bounce like no other software (as a matter of fact, it's all it does, basically, as the name implies), so I don't know how far I can take it to animate the rest of the game. We'll have to wait and see, I suppose.

Until then, stay safe out there!

She is a feisty one, isn’t she? Please look forward to many more adventures starring Yumi in the future.

Really like the character

Urza

Oh yeah, that’s Pic2Jelly as well. The cutoff points aren’t subtle. The thing is, I wanted to try commissioning the animation, but it basically almost doubles the costs, since the price for animating two characters is very close to commissioning for their drawing. Cutting cost there is an obvious idea, but I find myself struggling to find good alternatives for animation.

Looks pretty good at lower resolution but yeah the larger it gets the more you notice the artifacts. Only other thing I noticed was her arm kind of cuts off near the elbow a bit in it but I don't know if that was pic2jelly as well or something else. Still makes it pop more!
