Weekly update - Mini games, CG sketch & trouble at home

What's up, everybody? It's been a little while, hasn't it?

This week has been a mixed bag of events. Extensive work from the electric company on our local power lines made me lose at least one entire day of work. And cover shifts at work eating up even more time...

But! I submitted the next grapevine CG commission to the artist Ainemswork and I got a sketch back last night. I gave them a correction pointer and they will soon begin work on a final version. I do not know their opinion on sharing sketch pictures with you guys, so I won't, but it is very faithful to the photoshop edits I shared with you last time.

Meanwhile, I've been trying to crunch on The Bunny Girl game. So far, the main story now has the following added to it :

I'm currently writing the 'failure' scene of the headscissors CG. I'm really into it, and it should prove to be an even better scene than what was previously seen in The Bodyguard 1

I should be able to release a new build with these changes early next week.

Now, I've been thinking a lot about The Bunny Girl, and there is a few things I would like to change about the game. Here is a short list of what I imagine would make the game even better :

I just feel that the game needs more interaction. Like, in The Bodyguard 1, you had a lovely little radio lady to talk to in the down times. A new ally character would work similarly.

And that ally would need his own antagonist, a new bunny girl with a contrasting look and personality to Jazmine. Imagine a pair of characters like Blue Archive's Karin and Asuna in their bunny costumes and you get the picture.

Of course, these ideas come at a cost, in this case a longer dev time. So you might not be too pleased to see me come up with new ideas like that. Or maybe you'd be down for it. Let me know.

The current structure is pretty much like this : >Meet Jazmine >She takes you to the private lounge >She tortures you with one move after the other >…? >Profit! I feel it’s definitely missing something more dynamic. Hence why I added the escape room minigame where you have the chance to leave the lounge. I haven’t written the scenes after escaping, though, so whatever happens after that point is still up for debate. Could the protag escape the casino and get trapped in the hotel room? Or elsewhere? Or is escaping just one ending? And yes, I already have at least two good ideas for the new characters. We’ll see.

Oh yeah, I’ve been generating some AI images for reference for a second bunny girl for a while now. She’d be someone like this : A muscular blonde girl, long hair, blue eyes, and she looks a little air-headed. She talks and acts like a naive girl who doesn’t know her own strength, but you get the feeling it’s all an act to hide her true violent nature. She’d say things like “Come here and hug your favorite widdle bunny girl!” or even “Oops, did I hug too tight? Ugh, I’m always breaking my toys, hahaha!” But you know she isn’t dumb if she is working for Jazmine… As for the ally, I imagined a cool, sharp-dressed hacker, who seems to always keep his cool. He might be overdoing it with his personal style, like wearing sunglasses inside the casino, but he oozes cool. Probably either an african-american or an indian (as in from India) man, too, since I’ve seen in my Player Polls that people would like to have a more diverse representation in terms of protagonists in the games.

I’m all for improvements and more content, even if it means waiting a little longer. I mean, I am waiting for Xenonauts 2 since 2019 😅 Anyway, as much as I’d like to see Jazmine torture the MC ASAP, I can wait longer to get more juice out of the concept with a 2nd character. Do you have a short description of this 2nd character, as well as the MC’s acolyte?

If you feel the game needs something more, you should totally do it. It will probably never stop bugging you if you feel you didn't put your best foot forward XD I didn't mind the current structure, but I certainly won't complain about another girl and more scenes either.
