It's a known issue and they're dropping a patch in a couple of hours. Check their discord if that issue is happening with you.

The game sucks. It is unbearably slow, the method of progression is top tier awful. Daily tasks are a chore and aren't even fun. The positions give you like three actions at most if you are lucky, most just one. You basically select a position and you get to sit and watch for five whole minutes as the same animation plays out. It's like watching a 5 second porn video on loop. I've never been so bored.

After server maintenance and logging back in.... I have lost all of my patreon time limited bundles and all of the experiments... ALL. I have none at the moment.... Quite frustrating when I've been patient like many others I'm sure. Do not want to be negative... but after losing all progress AFTER the new Phase 2 started... It is disheartening. From the latest comments on this thread, it seems many others have had their progress wiped out as well. Hopefully the developers get right on this.

What i said was going to happen months ago has happened and will continue to happen because people keep getting duped into backing this developer. Patreons including me waited over a year for this update, most of us would want to have the actual functioning updated contents, more than the few dozens/hundreds bulks we donated. I mean it's not exactly the same and they did re-release a totally different broken version, lol - but I do hear you that some part of the game being nicely finished and less grindy would be very appreciated. If it's any consolation, the error message changed recently which suggests they're hard at work. It feels like it's a lot of work for their team size but I imagine hiring for this type of game is quite challenging... not that I'm making excuses for them. I hope they have some un-bricked version ready soon.

My problem is discord shouldn't be where most of their updates are coming from. Discord is free. Shouldn't your primary place of update be where your backers are paying? Why is their Patreon an afterthought? Maybe I don't understand Discord enough, but that seems backwards to me. lol patience. The 'game' that is in beta (currently a main menu simulator) doesn't in any way resemble what people backed years and years ago. It remains a bunch of hentai loops shakily reworked into grind mechanics to buy yet more time/funding. Backer money is clearly all spent on 3D art/animation - I'd be surprised if there's any more than a single actual developer working on it. As for any evidence of the tactical/campaign/actual game - there remains none. Not even a screenshot. Just hentai loops. For years now.

Ok so in my opinion since the majority of the community found out they were being scammed and pulled their subscriptions or stopped financially backing the developers they were running out of money to.... i dunno eat at red lobster? pay for their girlfriends earrings? pay their car insurance?? Anyway, this release on steam was a complete hoax and only to get that instant cashflow of all of the suckers who believed the game was patched and ready to go and either re-subbed or purchased this on steam. As you can see they LITERALLY released a broken unplayable game and on steam no less!! You should, at least, let us know what's really going on right now. Are you trying to fix the glitch? Or are you just ignoring it? Are you making any effort? Crowdfunding a product is NOT AT ALL like a charity, and is 100% an investment that you, as an investor, can absolutely expect returns on, legally in fact. The fact that they have some content to show buys them some time, but they should at least code in a server response message to let players know they're still working on the problem. At least if the game told players "server maintenance in progress" or something, they wouldn't have to wonder whether or not it's a problem on their end.

Personal comment, not intended harshly to anyone. When you buy a game on Steam you expect it to work and can instantly get a refund if it doesn't. When you crowdfund a project you know you are taking a chance that you might see no results, it's more of a charity thing I guess. Tying Steam to crowdfunding confuses the issue. Many people, seeing the extremely nice video for Operation Lovecraft on Steam, will (like me) have been blown away and wanted what was in the video. Steam gives it authenticity. In reality you are contributing towards a work in progress and may never see the content as advertised. You can also expect a lot of delays :P

As it stands NOW: Harem does not work in beta v0.7 Gallery is reduced and buggy in beta v0.7 VR is disabled in beta v0.7 (as in the last version) Only the Harem is being fixed / improved for this update. If the VR Gallery is what drew you in (like me to be honest) you would be better with the 0.34 version (from 2021) which has the most animations and working VR.

For those with no Discord - there has been an update in communication. Testing is still on-going, game-breaking bugs are fixed but still a lot of issues. No further timescale hinted at. There is a semi-poll on the Discord announcements channel asking people to click "thumbs up" if they are happy to go with a buggy-but-workable version or "thumbs down" if they want to wait. Again, no timeframe specified. I clicked "thumbs up", I just want to see something working :P

More official communication would be nice though. TO PROJECT HELIUS: On the strength of the Steam advert a lot of people will have paid more as Patrons than they would have for a mainstream game (I did, nearly a year ago). Most of us understand this is a work in progress, and have seen previous versions working, but there are still a lot of paying customers who will have expected a working product (not unreasonable) yet a week after launch (and 5 days after a 24 hour downtime was announced) have seen nothing of the advertised content and will be feeling scammed and angry. How long would it take to add a one line update (at the top of the current post, there are people who won't bother clicking "continue reading" :P ) once a day? I know from decades of experience in office development that a customer will accept delays more easily as long as they know you aren't ignoring them. And a private tip (everyone else stop reading please) If you think an update will take 6 days say 9, not 3 then delay. The customer will accept that (they've paid, they're screwed anyway) and you will look great when you turn it in 3 days early :D

In response to some of your comments (I am not affiliated with Project Hel at all, just someone else who paid money and is hoping for a decent return :P): Gallery mode is going and pretty much gone, the new version is worse than the last. Less animations, a camera that loses focus and models 90 degrees out of place. If Gallery is all you want then abandon the Beta and go back to the Steam demo, it had more content + VR. VR is gone from the Beta completely. See above. Harem mode (i.e. Online) HAS been working (it worked fine on the previous Steam version) and there IS new content (I saw the experiment cards briefly but it crashed...).

The only things to add onlie-mode I believe is to prevent account renting——however, now it takes much more disadvantages than benefits. I must claim that, to those who had spent more than ＄100（For me this number is 200, well for me I do not care about this number and I believe there are much more people who spent more than me） or more， It's fairly enough to provide them off-line game that have whole sences. The moeny they spent can buy more than 2 or 3 copies, but can not ever connect to the server. (Forgive my poor english)

I was a strong supporter when they got started and actually released content. That was over a year ago. So let me point out to supporters this fact: Your paying for a "game" gallery viewer, that you can't actually play... Zero rewards for your support as they have tied game to an eternal steam "beta" cutting all stand alone versions. Last real version was .34 which contains nearly ALL current content PLUS male character changes such as skin tone etc. For the average supporter that was 240$ +- of support ago LAST YEAR. Now supporters are even forced to daily grind in "game" to obtain the new positions/animation card things. Just think about that... paid hundreds of dollars for a gallery viewer tied to online play with no standalone and NO tangible progress for a year. I ditched some time back but just re-upped in hope, and wasn't surprised at all. Requesting refund because I haven't even been able to "play" or view anything but text since i paid. I imagine Dev meetings are more about how to hook supporters with paid online subscription based "beta" (hints no communications) They can't exactly say they want you to build a habit of daily missions building in game currency to a subscription based service for an animation or two per month. (and that's IF they ever get it up and running)

Only Day 2? I've been backing them on patreon for more than a year. I literally switched from monthly to annually and had my annual membership expire. Then I bought it on steam. I've put a lot of money into the project (considering how much most folks pay for games). I really wish they'd just put out another message and let us know what went wrong and when they hope to have it finished. I check every day to see if they've got it fixed but it's really hard to know how many "/t" is in terms of hours. Just talk to us, Helius. We're on your side. It sucks to be kept in the dark.

I played the beta for the first time on Saturday, worked well and enjoyed it. Got the updated version on Sunday, crashed on load, black screen followed by a low level fatal error. Verified steam files and 2 reinstalls later and still get the same error. Has anyone else had this issue? New the discord so in the process of getting that set up, thought I’d ask on here in the mean time

I appreciate the decision to leave a few bugs in to avoid further delays, especially in the face of investors disgruntled to the point of pulling out, but "it doesn't work" seems like one you might want to handle before the majority get to notice it. I recognize that it is entirely possible that the issue is outside of your control, but you could maybe tell someone what is happening? or update the internal patch notes to represent the new patch?

Make no mistake, I like the direction the animations and the character interation with them is taking, but just so i'm completely clear, vr and some kind of action environment with enemies and such are core to the model of this game and the description that lead to people choosing to fund it, right? And thus are merely "not yet implemented" in the current, pre-release version. Also, the vr gallery from the "demo" alongside the understanding that those animations resulted from some kind of gameplay was 100% the draw for me. I loved the detail and work that went into the world implied by it. This "multiplayer slightly interactive animation gallery" of the current incarnation is not a bad snack, but not what I understand the main course to be. Does this seem consistent with the direction the company is taking?

And forget the Gallery - if that's all you're after download the old, DRM free, version from the Project Helius website, it has more animations than the current one AND VR. There is no indication that is planned to change :(

OK, server still down.. I may have some good news - the game seems to have THREE issues right now for people posting: 1, server down - indicated by the message about "backend server" you get after clicking the Harem button 2, weird Harem button behavior - indicated by blank Tips windows, Chinese ones and the button going grey and locking up 3, getting to a Character Creation screen then various weird behaviors, usually ending with a crash if you get as far as pressing Start The good news is that the game does seem to have been working for some people while the server was up. But I, and many others, seemed to always be getting issues 2 or 3. I may have a fix, but I won't know for sure until the server comes back up :P I can say I've now got the Harem button consistently responding with the server message... it's a start :D

Best I've achieved so far is getting one frame from Harem, of a part rendered door, before it crashes back to loading the game again. I saw a guy claiming in the Steam discussion that he'd been playing the updated game, and to see his video for proof. His video was from a pre-phase 2 version... I know the power of reading - from it I learned not to insult other peoples intelligence from so little evidence :P So, for anyone else having the same Discord Issue - "The Read Me First" on Discord says "Click the book", I couldn't see a book to click and assumed (wrongly I admit) that it was another bug. It seems the book to click is the teeny tiny white icon under the text in the Read Me - once clicked the Channels appear. However the bug reporting is on GitHub anyway, so why not just say Go Here: https://github.com/itsamewayu/OLFallenDoll/issues ?

The sad thing is I keep trying... Update, the HAREM button no longer does anything. Possibly too much functionality? I dunno :P Gallery, as has been mentioned, still works, but the camera focusing in it and various 'features' don't. The free demo on Steam had a much bigger, and working, gallery. Still no acknowledgement that Project Hel are even aware as far as I know. Anyone else seen anything official? Also, has anyone actually seen anything on the Discord server? Except the Readme and Patch Notes I see no other pages, certainly no #bug_report.

Yeah... Im pulling my support for this shitshow Instantly.. Massive issues have been reported for the past 24 hours. but there have been no official statement about these issues.... I actually dont care how hard you are working to fix this, and being a beta test is no excuse. Ofc we should expect bugs in a beta. But not being able to get any anywhere near the gameplay seems forboding.... The least you could do was take 5 mins to adress the issues on your patreon, or steam, but you cant even give us that.

If you click the Harem button often enough you will get to a character creation screen, I got that 24 hours ago. You get random Tips windows first, sometimes blank, sometimes Chinese characters, sometimes one of various error messages. The character creation screen happens every time and, this is IMPORTANT, your previously used name will not be available. This is IMPORTANT because after you link your Patreon (which I managed yesterday) and get your rewards (which I got yesterday, cash and outfits) you will never see them again. So... DON'T click the Link Patreon button until the character saving issue is fixed. How will you know? That I can't help with. Maybe Project Helius will tell us :P

So I have been looking at this game and wish listing it for a while but had not bit the patreon bullet... until the message about people signing up from march and beyond getting less of the future things and there was still like 2 days in February so I jumped in, still getting acquainted. When I load up the game and try to launch the harm mode, first try the tips window came up blank and when exited still left me at the main menu, when I closed the game and tried from the top same tips window same behavior but this time some quasi computer code(like what you would see in a xml file or something similar) saying: {"code":0,"msg":"got empty player-id from backend server1","uid":0} {"code":0,"msg":"","uid":96430000} looks like I don't have a player character/account server side if I am reading that halfway right, but I don't see how to fix that from my side. The game won't launch at all for me in VR mode, as soon as I see the inside of the station I get a popup saying "The UE4 Paralogue game has crashed and will ... Fatal Error!" When I'm in Steam VR I do not even see it showing up as a VR capable game, the game only has an option to "Play in Theater" mode. Is this expected?

Oops, server maintenance again. I got to the Harem character screen and almost saw the new character before it broke again so it looks like all the changes are in Harem and Gallery is now defunct (version 0.34 was larger and had VR).

Yes it absolutely is, especially with networking involved. But a lot of people don't want to see that. Especially with networking a lot of stuff can get out of hand quickly. I know my own comment further up sounds otherwise, because I'm a bit frustraited, not gonna lie, but cause I know this stuff (I do have experience in ITmyself, since it was and is my Job), I offered my help, with the tiny bit of information I could gather and still do, so they can get more information on what is going on.

Okay, i am a bit frustraited over here. I am in germany, and since the update installt it toled me that the server is under maintinance, wich for me is fine, but then the game started saying that there is no UID for me in the backend server (it aktually gives me a bit more information than that, but its baisicly just some debugging stuff, I don't want to share here, since i am unaware what information about my account could lie within it), so now i can't enter the harem mode due to that. So i tryed to do the gallery, but thats so buggy atm that I think it is abbandond. Wich is fine to me, since i personally don't use it anyways, but i can see why people are frustrated about it. So now in short, I can't play the game right now in any way and am quiet scared that my account is gone for good... so please HELP! EDIT: some times it also just showes me an empty window as a Tipp... Still concerend that my account is gone and that i won't be able to access the game now at all (wich means online of course)... So, due to described issues I can't access anything related to the online stuff, including the in-game mail, to claim my stuff... Also, I am willing to give the information the game gives me to the devs. I'll be happy to help out

Wow... nothing has changed... aside from the "Lord of Tindalos" and the titles of most scenes being in... Chinese? Japanese? Is that Kanji? Harem mode isn't working. Gallery mode has nothing new to offer. I want to believe that all the great new stuff is in Harem mode and that there are just some minor server issues preventing people from accessing that, but after such a long wait and hype, this is fairly underwhelming :-/

The camera in the Gallery now focuses on the closest body part, blurring other detail when close. Half the animations I have tried so far are bugged in some way. There are no new fluid effects in the Gallery. This release has served no purpose. Old users can no longer use it, new users attracted by the update will be instantly put off. But only after pledging to Patreon. My god, I'm starting to agree with the doubters :P

Oh dear. So much for my enthusiasm an hour ago. After a 13 GB update: Harem mode doesn't work, just brings up a blank TIPS window. The Gallery has no new scenes or characters (but the Hound of Tindalos is now a Lord with a different head, and scene titles are now in Chinese, so that's something after a years wait). The patch notes for 0.7.0 are even dated 2022-3-04 - come on, it's on the first screen and no-one noticed? Saving money by having no QA doesn't pay in the long run. There appears to be no way to link the game to Patreon as this post says. Clicking the ACCESS button just opens a browser with the Project Helius website. There appears to be no #bug-report channel on the Discord server. I'm confused, I thought all the delays were for testing...
