You only have to pay once the receive the full game, however monthly updates are released separately to subscripted pledgers. You will be receiving the game as soon as it is finished via email and Patreon messages.

You get the full game with a single $25 pledge while you have to pledge $8 three times to receive the completed game after it is finished.

I'm not sure if there's been a change of it, but if you have paid for it this month, the next download is sometime in early next month. It's mostly because of a payment system quirk that annoys Project Helius. They can answer this better.
