So yeah, this might be me doing something horribly wrong, or maybe it is just the way it is, but is the foot job the only thing that's ya know, doable, in the 1.11.5 version? I've honestly tried everything I can think of soooo...

So, uhhh... I pledged Student-tier mid-March, when do I get access to a decent actual build? All I can see is the 1.11 beta from March 1 with hardly any animations, and the free version from ages ago.

I agree. However, there's a large factor to consider.... Some people are stupid. They'll see a porn game that works in VR, and be more interested simply because it has that option, even if they don't have or intend to ever purchase any VR system. The publicity is currently the only real reason to do it, and because there aren't many porn games that work in VR right now, as long as this gets done within a year or so, it'll benefit even more because that publicity effect will be unique.

I'd like to comment on the work on making the software usable with Virtual Reality devices like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. I own a HTD Vive device (which is supposedly the best of the two), but it really isn't that interesting. The two main problems are 1) the headset is VERY inconvenient to use with the wires you're carrying too, etc., 2) (and this is the worst problem): The actual resolution you get with such a headset is not nearly as good as on a 1920x1080 monitor, all pictures are heavily pixelated. Thirdly, you have to use the manual controllers to control any given game, which means the programmers have to make an effort in creating a good user interface for this. My point is: I'm much more interested in a good version for PC than one for VR, AND there are vastly more PC customers. The effort on making it VR compatible will likely be unprofitable, apart from the fact that a VR version usually is not better than the"2D" version.

so what you are saying is that you will no longer have a build that is as functional as the 1.0.8.1 or even the demo 1.0.6 until release, is that correct? All future builds will be compartmentalized and essentially will not be "usable"?

Yes, but no promise on controller support. The new framework may not be easy to made controller friendly, but we'll try.

We are basically using the same modular development strategy as the Star Citizen - I know it sounds bad, but we risk having no releasable build for months if aiming for full-scale upgrades.

Nope, but some of our outsourcing staff live in China. They usually have to use a VPN to overcome the notorious Great Firewall so we chose to deploy the server there.
