2025-08-05 02:52:13 +0000 UTCEscape from New York was filmed in 1980. NYC had recently undergone a severe fiscal crisis and had for some years experienced a dramatic rise in crime. I suppose that made the scenario of abandoning it and turning it into a maximum security prison seem more plausible at the time. Great reaction Coby, enjoyed it!
