This is a very short chapter. The next one’s meatier, though.
I had a really busy day yesterday and didn’t get to this one until today. Though It’s a good thing I missed this yesterday, because as I was going through my files this morning, I realized I wrote the prompt wrong??? Idk how I got “punishment” as Day 9, but I’m at least relieved I spotted the mistake before I started writing, lol. Phew!

But instead, Dwayne gently said to him, “I’m glad you trust me enough to tell me what happened to you. But I’m so, /so/ sorry you experienced that, babe.”
“It’s ancient history now,” Gris muttered. “I know I need to not let it hurt me. . .”
“Sometimes you can’t control what hurts you, especially when it comes to big stuff like that,” Dwayne reassured him.
“I’ve tried to stuff it down and not think about it,” Gris admitted. He sniffled. “B-But I guess our scene last week dug it up. . . Must’ve hit a nerve in my brain, I guess.”
The wolf squeezed his boyfriend tightly. “I’m sorry. I’m sure it’s not pleasant to have those memories again.”
The human sighed. “No. . .
“It certainly isn’t.”
