__________

The mute Oleander and the confident Mothmando were sitting in the bushes when the birthing time came.
Both moth creatures were armed with sniper rifles and searching for enemies.  But the two of them had been gestating for quite a bit, so each had visible bumps.  And then, it was time.
As Oleander was looking through zir scope, ze felt a strong contraction ripple through zem.  It was an intense pressure on zir body, pressing against zir back and going quickly to zir pregnant stomach.  Zir belly tightened, and that’s when the moth knew: it was time.
Quickly putting down the sniper rifle, Oleander turned around and leaned against the bushes, scrambling to take off zir clothes.  Ze was currently wearing an outfit suitable for the field work ze and Mothmando were doing, and ze acted quickly.  First the moth removed zir leg harnesses and belt, but as ze did that, ze could feel the first egg starting to leave zir body.  The claspers around zir vagina moved, and the life inside of zem was beginning to come out. . .
Mothmando glanced over at Oleander’s position, and was surprised to see ze wasn’t there.  “What’s going on?” the other moth asked, turning around.  “Why—oh.”  They were interrupted when they saw the state Oleander was in.  After thinking for a minute, Mothmando decided, “You focus on getting out those eggs, ok?  I’ll make sure no enemies come near us!”
The mute moth nodded, and Mothmando faced forward, looking through the scope and returning to their position.
Oleander returned zir focus to the birthing process, and ze felt the egg struggling against zir underwear, coming out further and further with each and every second.  Ze reached out and removed zir jeans, then took off zir underwear, becoming completely exposed.
Looking down, ze could see the egg poking halfway out of zir privates, stretching the entrance and insides immensely.  Wincing in pain, Oleander focused all of zir energy into squeezing the new life out of zem.
Intense cramps spread through the moth’s body, knocking the breath right out of zem.  Oleander felt the pain spreading through zir back and belly, making zir muscles feel tight.  Ze forced zimself to focus on the task at hand, wanting to just get that egg out. . .
The moth pushed, feeling the egg slowly slipping out of zir vagina, widening zir entrance more and more with each passing second.  Ze put all their energy into it.  Just a little bit more. . .!

And then, it was over.  The rest of the egg left Oleander’s vagina with a loud /pop/.  It landed on the ground in front of zem, wet with fluids.
The mute moth shuddered and gently stroked the egg, catching zir breath for a moment and admiring what ze had produced.  It was around 2.5 inches in diameter, and from it, a baby moth could come.  But the birthing process wasn’t over yet. .
Oleander could feel the next egg coming down.  Ze took a deep breath, and then, ze pushed.
The cervix had already dilated completely, but the moth could swear that it stretched /even more/ to accommodate this new egg.  This time, the cramps weren’t tightening pain, but stabbing pain, shooting through zir lower back and abdomen.  Ze could feel the egg moving slowly through zir vaginal tunnel, and focused on taking deep breaths as it got closer and closer to zir entrance.
It came out, and the moth wheezed. Now it was feeling a little easier, and ze felt more and more of the egg leave zir body.  First the tip of it was poking out of zem, then the body of it, then the last half.  And with that, the second egg popped out of Oleander, landing in the grass next to the first one. The mute moth shuddered and breathed.  Two down. . .
Ze felt two eggs starting to come down, one after the other.  This would probably be a challenge. . .
As both eggs traveled down zir vaginal tunnel, sliding down the dilated cervix and getting closer and closer to zir vulva, Oleander felt more pain coming from zir insides, like zir privates were getting twisted up.  Taking a deep breath, the moth put zir faith in the process, and concentrated on getting those eggs out.  In, and out.  In, and out.  And then. . .!
With one final, silent cry, Oleander felt the third egg slip out of zem, with the fourth right behind.
Ze breathed a sigh of relief.  Putting a hand on zir belly, ze could feel that it had drastically gone down in size.  There was only one final egg left inside of zem. . . And it was ready to come out.
This last, final step of the process was easier compared to the rest—perhaps because Oleander had birthed so many eggs. Therefore, the pain wasn’t as intense, and the moth felt the egg slip out of the womb and down zir tubes.
Oleander took a deep breath, and then, ze did it: the final egg was pushed out of zir vagina, landing with the rest.
The mute moth groaned, feeling a tired haze wash over zem.  Zir belly was completely flat now—all the eggs had been birthed.
Meanwhile, Mothmando peeked out of the bushes, checking the perimeter.  “I think we’re safe,” they said.  “Only our allies around.  Turning to Oleander, they asked, “Are you alright?  That must have been quite a process.”
The moth nodded weaky.  Turning to zir right, ze saw someone approaching.
Ramirez had noticed movement in the bushes and came to investigate.  But upon seeing Oleander and the eggs, the soldier was frozen in shock, and stared at the scene for quite a bit.  Then, she recovered, and went up to the tired moth.
“Do you need help?” Ramirez asked.
Oleander nodded weakly.  Ze looked at the eggs, then at zir allies, and knew everything was going to be alright.
Ze just needed a moment to rest and recover.
