Alright, this is the last Patreon post looking back on the year & looking forward to the next one. I wanted to ponder the events of 2021, and see what the future holds.
In 2021, I created . . .
--. . . 17 games in total on my account, between demos, client projects, and Kickstarter samples. Holy crap, that's a lot!
--. . . my first multi-month development project, All Your Neighbors Know You're Food. Its successful creation showed me that making longer projects via Patreon is possible, and I can't wait to release more in the future.
--. . . weekly Patreon-exclusive stories, experimenting with a wide range of subjects, from different types of vore, to Animal Crossing fantasies, and much more.
--. . . The Vorgy's demo and Kickstarter campaign, which failed, reaching only around 1/3rd of its goal. I plan to revisit and restructure that project at a later date; I still have passion for that idea. But for now, it's on the backburner as I try to see how to move forward with it in a different way.
--. . . the demo for an otome, Objects Of Desire with Ianaro, which, on the flipside, WAS successfully funded on Kickstarter, reaching just over $690 for this game to happen!
--. . . and, of course, I put out stories (mostly) every weekday for y'all, mostly a wide range of commissions. To all of you who commissioned me this year: it was a real pleasure working with you, and I hope we can continue doing do in 2022.
How was 2021 for me emotionally?
--It started out alright. The first five months were, overall, pleasant. A few bumps here and there, but pleasant
--But the latter half of the year hit me like a freight train. This deeply affected how I create--for example, the 1.1 build of All Your Neighbors came out later than intended, and commissions have been a tad slower.
--It's basically been a non-stop emotional beatdown since August, with things escalating extremely from November onward. Even Christmas was bad. Thankfully, there is light ahead.
--All I can do is try and deal with these things in a healthy way, and look forward to a better future. And that is what I have been trying to do.
--Normally I wouldn't mention this stuff. But I bring it up because of how it's affected my creative process. I'm hoping there are no more negative developments. If there are, and I have to take another week away like I did in November, I will be sure to let you all know.
Other notable developments of 2021:
--I was featured in the anthology The Vore Studio, a collection edited and coordinated by zarpaulus! The story I submitted, Quieting Anxieties, is a special piece to me, and it was an honor to be included. You can get it at these links: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08TWXFB8F ; https://boundtales.storenvy.com/products/31585747-the-vore-studio
--I didn't know this had been released until I started googling for this post, but check it: Dread Vol 2, a free Weasel Press horror furry fiction anthology I'm part of, is out! My story is called The Wisdom To Know The Difference; warning for content relating to religious trauma if you're going to check it out. https://www.weaselpress.com/shop/dreadv2
So what's next for 2022?
--First, I want to know what my patrons want from me in the coming year--so if you're at the Democracy tier or above, you can contribute to what I'm going to make! Here's the masterpost for all the 2021 Wrapup Polls I have for patrons; you can learn more information there. https://www.patreon.com/posts/60430350
--I plan to continue things as normal. Stories every weekday, Patreon Exclusives every Friday, games/game updates monthly, commission slots open around the start of the month, and so on.
--As you can see from one of the 2021 Wrapup Polls, I plan to work on a long-term game starting in March. Y'all will decide which interactive fiction project goes into development for that--I'm excited to pursue that in a few months.
--And, of course, development will continue for Objects Of Desire. As I discussed in the most recent Kickstarter update ( https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tastyace/objects-of-desire/posts/3394875 ), I finally have the energy to focus on writing that VN. I'm excited to work on the script and continue development!
I think that just about covers everything. If you have any questions or comments, be sure to put them below. I will update this post as needed.
Thanks for everything, 2021. The new year is coming soon, and despite all the things I've gone through, I'm feeling good about where it's going. Here's to 2022!
