Susan the flamingo, Jane the panther, and Iris the lynx were just here to retrieve some data. Little did they know that things would quickly get more complicated. . .
The three scientists stepped inside the lab area and started to explore the halls. They were al had on the same baggy jumpsuit, which was the work uniform that everyone here usually wore.
“Alright, is everyone ready?” Susan asked the others.
“You bet!” replied Jane.
“Totally,” said Iris.
Susan nodded. “Alright, good. It should be just around the corner here. . .”
As the flamingo turned the corner, the three of them heard an odd noise: it was a strange whirring sound off in the distance, somewhere behind them. Then, something blew through the halls, and it swept Susan off her feet; the poor bird came tumbling to the ground! Luckily Jane and Iris ran forward, and grabbed Susan before she came crashing to the floor.
“Are you alright?” Iris asked as Susan got up.
“I think so. . .” the flamingo replied. “What on earth was that?”
“Beats me,” Jane answered. “Maybe just a broken vent?”
“Maybe. . .” Susan scratched her chin, trying to figure it out, but then she shook it off. “Let’s keep going. We have work to do.”
“Good idea.”
The three of them kept walking down the hall, and soon, they found the computer room. It was a large technology station with a huge touchscreen monitor at the front of it: in this room was the data they needed to retrieve.
“I’ll download what we need to get,” Susan said, taking a USB drive from her pocket and walking up to the computer. She plugged it in the side of the monitor and poked at the screen. A moment later, the data was uploading.
As she was retrieving the files, Iris and Jane were watching the door, bored—when, suddenly, they both noticed something quickly roaming down the halls! From the looks of it, it was some kind of creature, but it moved much too fast for them to see it properly.
The two of them exchanged a glance. “What was that?” Jane asked.
“Beats me,” replied Iris. “Let’s go investigate.”
The panther nodded. “Agreed.”
The two of them stepped out of the room and went to the right, where they had seen the thing go. After walking forward a few steps, they were able to make out the . . . /thing/ they were seeing.
It was some sort of bio-mechanical being, with a slimy body that was lined with chips and wires. “What is that?” Jane whispered to Iris.
“I don’t know,” Iris whispered back. “Let’s just approach it calmly, and then we can—”
Too late. The creature had heard the two and picked them up on its sensors. It whirled around, revealing a vacuum device that covered its entire face. It activated, and began trying to suck the two up.
It was a sudden and amazing amount of force, like being caught as a windsock in a tornado. They were being pulled in at a rapid rate, and the two of them struggled to find something to hold onto as the vacuum threatened to overtake them. Jane grabbed one of the nearby support pillars in the hall, and Iris quickly followed her lead, wrapping her arms around the beam as if her life depended on it (which, from the looks of things, it might very well have been so).
The vacuum suction pulled harder—it was like being caught in the eye of the storm! There were enormous winds all around the panther and the lynx, a great amount of energy that pulled at their bodies and threatened to overtake them at any second. . . It was very frightening, to say the least. It felt like the slightest breeze or pull might completely overtake them, make them weightless and suck them in, towards their doom.
“Hold . . . on. . .!” Jane yelled, trying to maintain her grip on the pillar. “We . . . have . . . to . . hold . . . on . . . tight!”
“I . . . know. . .!” replied Iris. “It’s . . . just . . . hard. . .! Hngh. . .!”
The two of them gripped the pillar as tightly as they could, but they could feel their grips slipping. Their arms were being pulled into the confines of the vacuum, and soon, they were holding onto the pillar with only one hand. Iris found the wall with her other arm, and Jane copied her movement, trying her best not to get pulled inside of the machine. But their grips wouldn’t stay strong for long. . .
However, just when they thought it was the end, a shelf next to the creature wobbled, and it toppled over, blocking the vacuum entirely. With the suction force gone, Iris and Jane were able to run away, and they fled to the computer room, not stopping until they reached their destination and slammed the door shut.
Susan jumped at the sound of the door slamming and whirled around. Jane and Iris were panting—had they gone somewhere? And why did they look so . . . /worried/? “What happened?” the flamingo asked.
“There’s some kind of creature out there,” Jane said to her.
At the same time, Iris shouted. “It tried to suck us up!”
“Slow down, slow down,” Susan said, waving her arms. “I can’t hear you both at once, you know. Now, what exactly—”
At that moment, Jane and Iris heard the sound of the suction, and backed away from the door. “It’s here!” the panther shouted.
Before she could say anything more, the door was sucked into the vacuum, and the creature was revealed. It stood in the doorway, and it stepped inside of the room. Then, it activated.
It was Susan’s first time feeling the force of the vacuum, and it took her completely off guard. The force that was coming from the machine was absolutely incredible, in the worst possible way. She let out a surprised scream and nearly fell to the floor, but managed to hold onto the monitor of the computer, wrapping her arm around the side of the big machine.
Then she looked and saw that Jane was sliding toward the mouth of the monster, and Iris wasn’t far behind. “Hold . . . on . . . to . . . me!” she yelled, reaching out her feathered hand. Jane immediately grabbed it, and snatched Iris’s arm with her other hand. The machine roared, and the suction began to increase.
The three of them hung onto each other tightly. “We . . . can . . . do . . . this!” Iris shouted. “Come . . . on . . . everyone!”
They struggled against the force of the vacuum, but soon, the inevitable occurred. Just as the download to the USB stick finished, Susan felt her grip on the computer slipping. Before she could regain it, she felt herself falling.
Jane felt Susan get wrenched from her hand, and she tried to grab the flamingo. But she missed, and only managed to grab the table next to her instead. And so, Susan fell into the machine, and got sucked into the vacuum.
The bird cried out in surprise as she got closer and closer to the bio-mechanical being. It was like getting pulled into a tornado, and once she was close enough, the machine sealed around her head. It sucked more and more of her inside, devouring her body whole as she struggled to escape. “No, no, no!” the flamingo yelled. “Please, don’t eat me!” But the creature didn’t listen—it continued to pull her in.
Jane and Iris watched in horror as more and more of Susan disappeared inside of the machine. First her head was swallowed, but her neck and shoulders quickly followed it. After that, her chest was eaten, then her midsection, then her legs. Finally, her feet were devoured whole. All of this took less than a few seconds.
But now that Susan was inside the vacuum, struggling and fighting inside of the monster machine, Iris and Jane had a chance to escape. The lynx grabbed the USB stick, and then she and the panther ran out of the room, not stopping until they were in a conference room all the way down the hall.
“Shit shit shit!” Jane yelled as the two of them ducked behind some chairs. “It got Susan! What the fuck do we do?!”
“Calm down,” Iris hissed. “We can do this. All we have to do is defeat that creature, and get her out of there.”
“But how?!” asked the panther desperately.
“. . . I don’t know yet,” the lynx admitted. “But,” she added, clenching a determined fist, “we’ll figure out a way. I know we will.”
At that moment, they heard a /SLORP/, and saw the door of the conference room get sucked away into the machine. Turning to it, they watched as the bio-mechanical being entered. In the back of it, there was some sort of sealed bag. And in that bag was the shape of a person struggling inside of it: Susan! At least she was still alive. . .
“All we have to do is shut down that vacuum, and we’re home free,” Iris whispered to her colleague. “Come on. Let’s try to sneak around it while it’s trying to find us. . .”
They went around the table, slowly and carefully approaching the vacuum as it tried to sense them. The machine being looked around, apparently not seeing them yet, and then, it rose up into the air, hovering a few feet above the ground. Jane and Iris’s mouth dropped open, and they hid behind the chairs, staring out at the creature. They didn’t know it could do that!
It brought the vacuum in a few random directions—and then, it turned to Jane and Iris! Before Iris could tell her friend to back up, the vacuum had activated, and it was trying to suck them inside!
“Hold onto something!” Iris yelled, grabbing onto a chair. Jane quickly followed her lead, grabbing onto the wooden legs and praying she wouldn’t get sucked inside.
The machine activate it suction, and began pulling things as hard as it could, letting out a strange, whirring roar as it did so. The force was, like before, amazingly strong, an extreme power that felt like being in the middle of a hurricane, and it refused to let up even for a second.
Luckily for Jane and Iris, the chairs and table were bolted to the floor—or perhaps it was unlucky for them, since the chairs and table couldn’t get sucked in and clog up the creature? Either way, they could hold onto them quite tightly. However, they would have to maintain their grip in order to not get pulled inside—and that would prove itself to be quite difficult.
It was Iris who finally slipped. The lynx’s grip became looser and looser on the chair she was clinging to, thanks to how much force the creature was exerting at the moment—the suction was just so strong! And then, she accidently let go of the chair, and began getting pulled inside of the machine!
“. . . NO!” Jane yelled desperately. She lunged forward and grabbed onto Iris, snatching up the lynx’s arm. Iris also managed to grab onto another chair as she passed by it, and she wrapped her arms around it, trying to resist the urge to let go. The vacuum was right behind her now, just a few inches away—the suction was stronger than ever, and it wanted her inside.
Iris desperately held onto the last row of chairs, and Jane held onto one of her paws. “Come . . . on . . . Iris!” the panther desperately yelled. “You . . . can . . . do . . . it!”
/I hope I can!/ the lynx thought to herself. /Wait a minute. . . What if we. . .!/
“Jane!” called Iris, screaming over the roar of the vacuum. “I . . . have . . . an . . . idea. Can . . . you . . . trust . . . me?”
“Of . . . course!” the panther replied.
“Then . . . I . . . need . . . you . . . to . . . clog . . . the . . . machine!”
Jane frowned. “. . . What?!”
“Trust . . . me!” Iris begged. “If . . . we . . . clog . . . it . . . we’ll . . . then . . . have . . . a chance . . . to . . . stop . . . it!”
Jane nodded. “Alright. . . I . . . trust . . . you!”
She took a deep breath, and then let go of the chair, letting herself get sucked into the machine.
The force of the bio-mechanical creature completely overtook her body, and her feet were sucked inside with a /SLORP!/ First her toes were pulled inside of the being, then her feet were completely sucked in. After that, her legs were slurped up like pasta noodles, making the panther cry out in surprise as the pace of the feeding increased. After that, her midsection was pulled in, along with her chest afterwards. Finally, only her shoulders, neck, and head were left to swallow: she had successfully blocked up the machine’s entrance, making an opening for her fellow scientist.
As the bio-mechanical creature was clogged now, the vacuum shut off. As Jane struggled inside of the device, Iris rushed to the back of the machine, trying to find a way to turn if off.
“Come on, come on. . .!” she muttered as she searched for something, anything that would shut down this machine. “Please, let this work. . .!”
Inside the machine, Jane was still fighting. She writhed and struggled, trying to get out of this horrible mess, but she could feel her body was in a tight, tube-shaped area, which squeezed around her form and rendered her fighting useless. Her shoulders were then devoured, along with her neck. Before she could say anything, her head was pulled inside.
The scientist was sucked down the constricting tube of the vacuum, until she felt her feet entering a more open space. More and more of her body piled inside, until, finally, all of her popped into the bag of the bio-mechanical creature.
She looked in front of her, and saw Susan, who was looking at her with horror. “Crap, it got you too?!” the other scientist exclaimed. “Oh no. . . What’s going to happen to Iris?”
“Don’t worry,” Jane reassured her. “Iris said she was going to figure out a way to turn this thing off. Surely she’ll figure out something, and we’ll be out of here in no time!”
“I hope so,” the flamingo said, shivering.
Jane nodded, saying nothing more.
Now there were two people in the vacuum’s bag. Could Iris save them, or would she join them inside of the creature.
It would be the latter. Because as the lynx looked at the creature, the inevitable truth sunk in. There was no control port or access panels to this device—there was no way to turn it off.
She was doomed.
As this thought occurred to her, the machine creature turned around, and began sucking her in.
“NO!” the lynx yelled. She grabbed onto the windowsill in front of her, clutching it tight and trying to resist getting sucked inside with the rest of her colleagues. The amazing force of the vacuum was a lot to handle, as it threatened to pull her in the second she showed any signs of weakness. But she was determined to get herself out of this, to not fall into the machine: Iris’s knuckles whitened as she gripped the windowsill, desperately trying to resist the pull. Come on. . .
But then, her grip loosened, and she fell backwards, just a few inches.
That was all it took.
The vacuum sealed around her head, and it began to devour her whole. “NO!” the lynx screamed, trying desperately to pull her head out. But she was stuck pretty good inside of the machine; the tight, constricting tube was sealed around her face, making it impossible for her to escape. She was truly trapped. . .
The creature pulled in her neck, letting it slide in after her, and then, it sucked up her shoulders. After that, her chest quickly followed, and it was quickly devoured. Then her midsection was eaten, and now, only her legs were left for the being to consume. All the while, Iris was fighting and struggling the best she could, but was finding no luck at all—she couldn’t get herself out of this one.
First her thighs were swallowed up, then her calves. Finally, her feet were sucked in, her toes sliding into the machine—and just like that, it was done. Iris was sucked inside.
The lynx struggled as she traveled down the tube of the vacuum, trying to escape, but there was no escaping for her. A minute later reached the bag of the machine, filling up the space with Jane and Susan. Now the bag was quite bloated, as it had expanded in size to fit all the scientists.
“Shit, Iris, is that you?!” Jane asked upon feeling someone new come in. “Did you find a way to turn it off?!”
“I didn’t,” the lynx admitted sadly.
“Oh no,” Susan said. “So we’re stuck here. . .”
Outside, the vacuum creature rested for a moment, satisfied now that it had filled itself with prey.
Then, it went off in search for more people to eat.
