“You have some explaining to do,” Regus growled. “Speak, traitor.”
Slick gulped. “W-Well, master,” he began, trembling before the panther man, “I certainly didn’t /mean/ to betray you, I was just—”
“Just screwing me over by trying to turn me in to the Galactic Alliance?!” screamed Regus. “Good thing Leech discovered your pathetic attempt to switch sides. But I’m not through with you yet.”
“Oh?” the lizard asked nervously.
“No. For you see, I am very hungry,” Regus said, grabbing Slick by the shoulders. “And I need a meal. . .”
Slick knew exactly what this meant. “No, master, please!” he begged, trying to wrench himself out of Regus’s strong grip. “I-I won’t betray you ever again, just don’t eat me!”
“Too late,” purred the panther man. “You’re just dinner now.”
