UPDATE 2: Father in Hospital
Added 2019-12-11 16:57:46 +0000 UTCHey all, as you know from my last post my father was taken to the hospital.
He had been sick with the flu but it must progressed into a lung infection. Coupled with his COPD it became a very serious condition, very quickly.
I won't bore you with all of the details but basically because he wasn't getting oxygen. He passed out, and at that point his body started shutting down. He had 2 cardiac arrests which they managed to bring him back from. And they sucked out like a beer can worth of fluid from his lungs.
Some of the mucus infection they sucked out of him was so green it was the color of an avocado skin.
Was awful.
They pulled us into a private room and gave us 'the talk,' to prepare for the worst.
Now, I'm pleased to say that my father is now making a recovery. And amazing one in fact.
The doctor who gave us "The talk" came in a few days ago and the look on his face was pure shock. Even he seemed like he couldn't believe the turnaround in my fathers condition. He has now been let out of the ICU and will be coming home in a few days.
Everything isn't sunshine and rainbows yet. There have been some other issues that have arisen and entire ordeal has left my dad extremely weak, to the point of not being able to stand up on his own or move in the bed much. But, his strength is slowly returning. Still we need to get his house ready for him to come home and there will be things that I'm sure will pop up in the next few weeks where my parents will need my help.
All of this has, of course, put a big hiccup into my posting schedule. However, I'm trying to get things sorted out.
