Talkin' RiffTrax: The Princess and The Magic Frog!
Added 2025-09-05 18:22:23 +0000 UTCHello, Traxians! Your old pal Erik here with another installment of Talkin' RifTrax. And this time there's not just a Princess, but also a Magic Frog! Supposedly.
In a "movie" that can only be described as "looking like Barry Mahon made it" (and if you're a long-time fan of ours, you know exactly what I mean - just look at the thumbnail above!) a young boy escapes from his wallop-happy father into an enchanted forest full of generic storybook characters like a genie, a toad (NOT a frog, because of course), a leprechaun, and more! But no Princess. That would be silly.
Also, there's a boom mic that appears in 11% of the total movie's upper third. You might ask yourself, "How in the world did nobody on set notice such an obvious, amateur blunder?"... but then again... well, The Princess and the Magic Frog speaks for itself, really.
We loved the appearance of Boomy the Boom Mic so much that he's missed whenever he's absent from a shot. Yes, we named the Boom Mic. It's the only thing that kept the guys sane!
Enjoy Mike, Kevin, and Bill talking about this attempt at children's cinema above. Get the full riff here, and take an additional 5% off your purchase with the coupon code BOOMY.
Back with more soon!
Yours in lazy movie magic,
Erik

Finally got this and realized that the genie uses the same magic words as the characters in The Magic Christmas Tree. So I checked and odds bodikins, it’s the same writer! That explains a lot.
