Bridget and Mary Jo talk BEFORE I SAY GOODBYE!

Howdy, Traxians!

Bridget and Mary Jo stopped by my virtual recording studio to chat about their latest riff, Before I Say Goodbye, which is another made-for-TV movie adaptation of a Mary Higgins Clark novel. Exciting stuff!

We talk about the movie, and digress into such salient points as exposition, spoiler alerts, and 90s haircuts. Enjoy!

Erik

P.S. A Turkey Thursday will be happening this week! Stay tuned for details.

This talk with Mary Jo, Bridget, and Erik is freaking hilarious!

So the assistant's mom seems to be around 60 and her care is paid for 10 years - so I guess she's SOL after that! So many quirks in this movie 😄

I agree The plot's almost completely incomprehensible; but our Lady Detective figures itout!

I had to watch this movie three times in just a few days to work out what the hell happens in it. The main point of confusion for me was Sam Krause, who was supposedly on the boat when it blew up but we never see him. Also, I *love* when that old lady says "coffee cake". I think it's ASMR-y.

Good observation!

I think the scene at the end is just a callback to the scene about 40 minutes into the movie, where the Detective meets Sean Young as she's running. The "creature of habit" scene. When talking to her, he says "After my wife died, I couldn't really get motivated to exercise anymore. You can see the result!", to which she replies "You're welcome to join me whenever you feel motivated." Even when watching this the first time, I saw that and thought "the movie will have these two running together before it's over".

A few months ago, I binge watched all of the Mary Higgins Clark movies and thought how great they would be riffed. I am so thrilled that the ladies were able to get these. Thank you!
