Turkey Thursday for January 14th: Ready Player One (HBO Max) + a Traxian pre-show!

Hi everyone,

It's your long-time platonic Internet friend Erik The Web Guy here, and this Thursday I'm bringing back Turkey Thursdays - and you're invited!

This week's feature will be streaming via HBO Max: the Steven Spielberg movie adaptation of a book that references Steven Spielberg movies, Ready Player One. Since the book sequel "Ready Player Two" just came out (and is also the subject of the current 372 Pages podcast) I thought this would make for a fun night, this Thursday. We'll go live at 5:30 pm Pacific / 8:30 pm Eastern at the RiffTrax Scener Theater.

But before that main event, let's gather for an exclusive Traxian-only pre-show! Starting at 3:30 pm Pacific / 6:30 pm Eastern over at The Traxian Room I'll screen another virtual reality-based tale, Julie and Jack! Enter the code OASIS when we go Live to join.

Since this is a Scener show, the Ready Player One portion of the evening will require an HBO Max subscription, along with Google Chrome and the Scener browser extension. But the Traxian pre-show will only require Chrome+Scener, since we'll be using Vimeo to play back a stream of the merged riff of Julie and Jack.

I'm very much looking forward to bringing you more Turkeys via Scener in 2021. I'll be back with another poll soon, where you, dear Traxians, will help us decide what we'll watch.
