Talkin' RiffTrax: LYCAN COLONY
Added 2020-08-10 22:12:28 +0000 UTCWe see a lot of bad movies here at RiffTrax; we sift through them like fine flour that’s gone off and gotten weevils and spores and now smells like guano.
There are different levels of bad, to be sure, but there are also different facets of bad. Different qualities of badness, if you will. Behold Lycan Colony, (arguably) the Worst Movie We’ve Ever Riffed.
We’ve riffed a lot of badness over the years. Figuratively a crap-ton. We’re experts at this; we know of what we speak. And as Traxians, you know that we know. So here we go:
Lycan Colony has managed to earn gold in just about every category, except perhaps one: it’s not boring. Confusing, leaden, wooden, ridiculous, bad sound, bat effects, bad costumes, the script - don’t get me started - but it’s not really boring, unlike Rollergator. Hence the debate here on which is the most awful, the pinnacle of wretchedness, the apex of the nadir.
See, we take our bad very seriously.

So any weakness a movie has is multiplied for you. I'm still grateful you took on "Rollergator," so thank you for your service. The armed services around the world keep other people from killing me. Is it a bad movie because technically it's horribly filmed and has bad acting, like Lycan Colony? Or is it a bad movie because it's a soulless abomination that makes your feet go numb after 15 minutes of watching, like RollerGater?

2020-08-11 05:01:04 +0000 UTCThe way to settle your conflict is obvious. Riff "After Last Season" and/or "The Time Machine (I Found at a Yard Sale)." Admittedly, an iRiffer did release an "After Last Season" riff back when iRiffs could be released, but iRiffers riffed other things before you got to them. It would probably take some work to get the rights to either, but you could do a wonderful job with both. And after riffing either of those, "Lycan Colony" would unambiguously not be the worst movie you covered.
