Conor grills Kevin on Hobgoblins references

Hello Traxians! Conor Lastowka here. We did our first collective run thru of our Hobgoblins Live show yesterday. It was very funny and will be a great time! With these live shows that were also done on MST3K, once we have our script in order, I go through the original MST episode and note if there are any lines that are similar.  On this rewatch, I also noted some of the references I didn't get. ( I had just finished my junior year of high school when this episode aired.) So I called up Kevin Murphy and asked him to explain who the hell some of these people are!

Jami Gertz - Seinfeld. Kramer talked to her on the phone

This was great!

This was fun, listening to you both. You're really helping us pass time well. "I'm actually "on the short bus" for a variety of reasons, all from the neck up, and I need something of a 3-ring circus, going on around me, to keep going. I listen to podcasts while cleaning at work, and am happy to catch up on Pateon, when I'm home.

Bill Lemmond

I want more of this, please

Wally Cox was also the voice of Underdog, and Arnold Stang did a lot of voice-over work that included Top Cat and the Honey-Nut Cheerios bee.

John Chadwick

Grant Goodeve also sang the saccharine-drenched theme song of Eight is Enough.

Wow Jami Gertz was the only reference that I knew. Twister, Lost Boys and Less Than Zero!

Rex Smith fronted the late 70's rock group Rex,while his less-Tiger Beat-worthy brother led Starz....heavily covered in mags like Creem, Hit Parader, etc & Don Kirshner's Rock Concert....many a Bitchen' Camaro with straining 8-track blared these particular Smiths.

Jami Gertz was also in "Crossroads" with Ralph Macchio and a young, demonic Steve Vai!

Also, to add some details to Rex Smith, I know the name first from his couple of seasons hosting Solid Gold, an early 80s Top of the Pops type American music show and mainly from his co-starring role in 1989's "The Trial of the Incredible Hulk" where he played the dual role of Matt Murdock/ Daredevil in the second Hulk tv-movie following the series. This also had possibly the first of Stan Lee's cameos in Marvel movies where he played the foreman of the jury in said trial.
