Talkin' RiffTrax Shorts w/ Conor & Sean

Hey Traxians, Conor here. Sean and I recorded two shorts recently, the first one, The Kids Guide to the Internet came out last week, and we've got another one coming out next week. We wanted to share a bit about our own experiences as people who can still remember a time before the internet, as well as fill you in on some details about the recording process (Spoiler: we both made wildly embarrassing flubs!)

Thanks to everyone who checked the first short out, the next one comes out on Wednesday, 2/12, and we'll hopefully be back with more after that!

I loved Jack Horkheimer, his enthusiasm for astronomy was infectious! I lived in Florida and he was out of Miami, I always figured he was just local.

It would come on after Monty Python on our local PBS station... "Some people hustle pool, some hustle cars, then there's that man you may have heard of, the one who hustles STARS! Jack Horkheimer, Star Hustler!" He always wore a Members Only jacket, and started with "Greetings, Greetings!" standing in front of terrible green screen shots of the solar system. Classic!

You mean you guys didn't spend every afternoon in the 90s watching JACK Horkheimer - Star Hustler on PBS between Math-Net and Ghostwriter?? And here I thought you were card-carrying nerds...

Sean-Casey King

Thanks Robert!

RiffTrax

Fantastic job, guys. This short was hilarious.

Robert Szorady

We want a movie next!

Today I learned: Jack Horkheimer: Star Hustler changed the show's last word to "Gazer" in 1997 because they discovered that people searching for the show on the Internet were getting the website for Hustler Magazine as the first result. Gotta love those early days of the Internet.

Jered Heeschen

Haven't listened to this yet, but hoping Sean and Conor will do "Don't Copy That Floppy" next!

Derek Levesque

I've always loved Jack Horkheimer. Thanks for reminding me of a wonderful guy!

Kevin

Loved Jack Horkheimer! We still love hearing the opening music to "Star Gazer" lol

Micah Neff

You guys were AWESOME! One of my favorite riffs of the year thus far!
