An interview with director Mark Polonia
Added 2019-10-30 21:53:40 +0000 UTCHello Traxians!
This coming Friday, we'll be releasing a riff of the much-requested Z-grade movie, Feeders.
It turns out, RiffTrax's own Assistant Video Editor Tony Masiello interviewed Feeders co-director Mark Polonia for his documentary web series about shot-on-video horror films, entitled S.O.V.: The True Independents. In this excerpt from an upcoming episode, Mark discusses the origins, making of, and distribution of this 1996 Blockbuster Video staple.
The web series is a passion project of Tony's, dedicated to preserving the legacy and history of shot-on-video horror movies, and tells the true stories (from the innovators themselves) of these important works in cinematic history.
RiffTrax senior writer Sean Thomason says, "After spending a lot of time in the delightfully homemade world of Feeders, writing the RiffTrax, it's fun and illuminating to hear a little about how it came to be."
Please enjoy this Traxian FIRST LOOK at Tony's interview with Mark. For more episodes and other S.O.V. madness, visit www.sovhorror.com.

2019-11-02 23:06:58 +0000 UTCGood for him standing by the movie and being proud of it and being a good sport. I'd rather watch this movie (with rifftrax) than spend $10 on yet another billion dollar comic book movie.

2019-11-01 15:02:11 +0000 UTCYes, yes, yes! Candid, behind-the-scenes interviews with B-movie/Z-movie makers? More, more, more!

2019-11-01 03:20:15 +0000 UTCMore like this, please! This adds entirely new dimensions to these movies. If anybody has the Rhino MST3K DVD of The Rebel Set, watch the interview with Don Sullivan. Fantastic!

2019-10-31 14:44:07 +0000 UTCNot only did they make a movie for $500, but they sold 7000 copies. In those days you could sell tapes to rental stores for $100 a pop...so they potentially made $700,000 off their $500 movie.

2019-10-31 02:01:46 +0000 UTCThis has been true for me since the MST3K days, but I’m often left with admiration for the people who make these Z-grade movies. From Ed Wood and Coleman Francis to James Nguyen and David DeCoteau, they didn’t let anything stand in their way of making movies.

2019-10-31 01:36:45 +0000 UTCIf you're doing a Feeders riff, does that mean there's some hope of seeing Feeders 2: Slay Bells as this year's Christmas riff?

2019-10-30 23:04:59 +0000 UTCDamn. They made a movie for 500 bucks. Good for them.
