Talkin' DripTrax #23: Terror in the Wax Museum

NOTE: This post was first published on October 26th, 2018 on Drip

Hello, Fellow Traxians of Drip! RiffTrax’s own Kevin Murphy from RiffTrax, here to introduce you to the latest installment of “Talkin’ Driptrax!” And with that statement I think I just typed more X’s into a single sentence than I have since the time I reminded people the the movie xXx was not rated “XXX” but merely titledxXx”.

But I’m burying the lede. For this installment Bill, Mike and I discussed our latest riff, Terror In the Wax Museum, Starring John Carradine, Elsa Lanchester and the sexy, leggy Broderick Crawford. We all agreed that Mr. Carradine has, at least on occasion, made some arguably questionable career choices. We concur that any given wax museum is inherently a place of terror, and support each other in our visceral disdain for English Music Hall.

I should also acknowledge that although we often seem to be a vast driftnet of cultural ephemera, there’s invariably something that we either have missed, chosen to ignore, or simply decided not to mention, simply because mentioning a reference does not ex tunc et ipso facto make it funny.

Case in point: this movie was released by Bing Crosby Productions, the same company which brought you Hogan’s Heroes along with, oddly, The Great Santini and the original Walking Tall starring (drum roll) JOE DON BAKER.

Oh, what a tangled web of cheese we weave.
