Crutches Review

My review of the crutches is quite ambivalent. I would definitely say that they offer a “softer” walking experience than conventional crutches. 

This is partly due to the thick, flexible rubber pins at the bottom and the ergonomically shaped cork parts for the hands. Although the material is comfortable on the hands (better than a hard standard plastic grip for sure), it does not give way either. And of course the shape doesn't suit every hand.

On top of that, this makes the resting pose more uncomfortable, as the shape presses into the back of the knee.

I don't see too much of a comfort advantage overall, especially for long distances.

I'm torn about the look. They're actually very stylish, of course, but they take some getting used to, they're just not “classic”.

My conclusion: I like them and it's cool to use them occasionally. But the advantages are not decisive enough to use them more often than occasionally :)

Mein Resümee zu den Krücken fällt recht ambivalent aus. Ich würde durchaus sagen, dass sie ein „weicheres“ Lauferlebnis bieten als herkömmliche Krücken.

Das liegt zum einen an den dicken, nachgebenden Gummipinöpeln unten als auch an den ergonomisch geformten Kork-Teilen für die Hände. Das Material ist zwar angenehm an den Händen (definitiv besser als ein harter Standard-Plastikgriff), aber gibt auch nicht nach. Und natürlich passt die Form nicht zu jeder Hand.

Obendrein macht das wiederum die Restingpose unbequemer, da die Form dabei in die Kniekehle drückt.

Gerade bei langen Strecken sehe ich ingesamt nur einen kleinen Bequemlichkeitsvorteil.

Was die Optik angeht bin ich hin und her gerissen. Eigentlich sind sie natürlich sehr stylish, aber doch gewöhnungsbedürftig, eben einfach nicht „klassisch“.

Mein Fazit: Ich mag sie und es ist cool sie gelegentlich zu benutzen. Die Vorteile sind aber nicht ausschlaggebend genug um sie häufiger als gelegentlich zu benutzen :)
