FOMO means: Fear Of Missing Out.
It describes the fear of not being included in something (such as an interesting or enjoyable activity) that others are experiencing.
It must be exactly what our protagonist feels: in the most beautiful summer weather, she is supposed to spend two weeks at home in bed...

Es beschreibt die Angst etwas zu verpassen bzw. an etwas nicht teilnehmen zu können
(z. B. an einer interessanten oder angenehmen Aktivität), das andere erleben.
Genau das muss unsere Protagonistin fühlen: Bei schönstem Sommerwetter soll sie zwei Wochen zu Hause im Bett verbringen...
