End of April update
Added 2020-04-23 17:18:25 +0000 UTCAs covid-19 keeps the world in it's grip, I'd like to start out expressing my hope that all are doing well and wishing all of you the best in dealing with this situation.
In the greater scheme, a simple visual novel might not seem all that important, but perhaps having something to entertain you and take your mind of things, if only for a few moments, is worth something, and if so, then I hope Light of my Life will contribute a little bit to that.
So, on to the state of Chapter 4: I've just queued up the last planned render for this update, and the work that remains on the story proper now is editing those images, incorporating them in the final scene, and reworking the script to match dialog and images.
I'm hoping to have that done, and be able to run through the script a few times for my own quality control, reworking existing dialogs and fixing graphics issues where needed, somewhere during this long weekend we have over here, and bring out a first beta next week.
While the beta is being tested, I'll be wrapping up the final stuff such as getting the gallery and summary updated, as well as fixing issues reported by the proofers.
What that means for timelines is that if all goes well, we could see a beta going out in the next week, and an official early release - to those eligible - the week after. The public release would be the week after that.
All of this under the condition that we don't run into a serious quality issue or other unforeseen problem of course.
I'll be providing further updates as we go, for now please stay safe and be well.

Really glad to hear about the game progress. This is undoubtedly my favorite VN and I love the characters and their character models. Most games are typical even when they are more diverse. Stories tend to be trite a predictable with character models that have been used, reused, reskinned, or vaguely modified. Your story has been gripping since the beginning. Even with the tragic story of the main character's wife, it doesn't drag or linger and derail the erotic elements of the story. I wish other writers understood using focal plot devices at points in their tales without derailing the primary plot that drew in the audience initially. Good show, and best luck with further endeavors.
