Slowly, he opened the door, revealing a brightly lit room. Despite the illusion of sunlight, he immediately noticed the artificial glow coming from a series of powerful halogen lamps mounted overhead. The floor was covered in loose dirt, giving the room a strange, unnatural greenhouse-like atmosphere. He scanned the space carefully, and when his eyes landed on the far wall, he froze, his breath catching in his throat. Four alraunes were clamped to the walls, their delicate, flower-like bodies restrained by thick steel chains. Thin serum droppers hung from the ceiling, with long needles piercing into their skin and vines. The faint hum of machinery filled the room, and judging by the sluggish, half-conscious state of the alraunes, the serum was likely some kind of anesthetic. Without hesitation, Yuri approached the nearest alraune. Gently, but quickly, he began removing the needles one by one. The alraune stirred slightly, her glowing green eyes fluttering half-open, too disoriented to fully comprehend what was happening. He leaned in close to her ear and whispered softly, “It’s okay. Don’t worry. I’ll get you all out of here soon.” The alraune let out a weak moan, her body trembling as the drug still coursed through her system. Yuri clenched his jaw, forcing down the rising anger he felt. So this is how they get alraune nectar... How despicable. The thought burned in his mind as he worked, methodically freeing each alraune from their chains and disabling the serum droppers. He knew this wasn’t just a rescue anymore, this was a statement. Whoever was behind this operation would pay dearly. Then, suddenly, he felt an intense, painful pressure on his shoulder, so powerful that it forced him down onto one knee. He gritted his teeth, fighting against the pain, but it was overwhelming. “Nice try, human. Playing hero, are we?” growled a deep, menacing voice. Yuri turned his head slightly, just enough to catch sight of his attacker. Standing behind him was an enormous bear man, his massive paw clamped tightly on Yuri’s shoulder. Beside him stood an insectoid woman, her chitinous arms folded casually across her chest, her compound eyes gleaming with amusement. Both were smiling, cruel, predatory smiles. “I think I know him,” the insectoid said with a mocking giggle, her voice high and buzzing. “He’s from the demi-human department of the police.” “I don’t care who he is,” snarled the bear man, tightening his grip on Yuri’s shoulder. “He was touching the boss’s property.” The insectoid woman leaned in closer, her grin widening to reveal sharp, needle-like teeth. With a flick of her wrist, she extended a long, venomous stinger from her forearm, the tip glistening with deadly intent. “Yes… we don’t like police dogs snooping around where they don’t belong,” she said, her tone dripping with sadistic glee.
[9:00]Yuri’s mind raced. His body was pinned, but he wasn’t out of options yet. He just needed to time things perfectly... “What a lovely solarium you have here! Is this part of the club’s special activities?” said a cheerful female voice, breaking the tension in the room. Both thugs turned their heads toward the source of the voice. Walking toward them was a young-looking demon girl, her long white hair flowing behind her, her blue eyes gleaming playfully. She moved with an air of confidence, completely unfazed by the situation. “Oh, you found my boyfriend? Thanks so much!” she added with a bright smile, her tone as casual as if she were chatting about the weather. Before either thug could react, she reached up and deftly removed the bear man’s paw from Yuri’s shoulder with surprising strength, then wrapped her arms around Yuri in an affectionate hug. Yuri blinked in confusion but didn’t resist. He quickly caught on, whoever she was, she had just thrown him a lifeline. He relaxed into the act, leaning slightly into her as if this was all completely normal. The bear man frowned, looking uncertain, his eyes darting between Yuri and the demon girl. “Boyfriend?” he grunted, his tone laced with doubt. “Yes, boyfriend!” she said, her smile never wavering. “I’ve been looking everywhere for him. Silly me, I told him not to wander off, but you know how guys are. Always curious, always poking around places they shouldn’t.” She gave Yuri’s arm a playful squeeze and laughed lightly, as though they were in the middle of a harmless lovers’ quarrel. The insectoid woman narrowed her eyes suspiciously, but the demon girl’s confident demeanor left them off-balance. “I know you….you're that demon girl from the maid cafe…”Said the bear man “That cafe where three of our gang members disappeared last week? You mean?. This is getting really interesting…” Said the Insectoid woman still pressing her stinger against Yuri’s chest. “Shall we take her to the boss? I am sure she will want to ask some questions, and she will decide what to do with the police boy.” Serass face got a bit serious “Darlings, you don't want to mess with me tonight…” she said in a serious tone The thugs started to laugh. " Who do you think you are? The avenging angel?” said the bear man. “For your information you intent of a devil…the avenging angel is our boss,“ said the insectoid woman. Serass eye widened in curiosity. “Oh? So she had questions? Shall we answer them, darling?” answered Serass with a smile looking at Yuri. She gave Yuri a sidelong glance, her smile hinting at something more beneath the surface, a silent challenge, as if daring him to see where this would go. Yuri, still pinned but far from helpless, caught on immediately. He knew they were outnumbered, but the demon girl didn’t seem worried. His police instincts told him to play along, he also needed to know who was behind the organization.

[9:00]The elevator ascended swiftly, the numbers on the display ticking upward as they climbed floor after floor. This building was one of the tallest in the city, towering over 80 floors, a shining monument to wealth and power in the heart of the skyline. Yuri’s thoughts were a mess, but not from fear. Instead, his mind was stuck on the demon girl beside him, who still clung tightly to his arm. Everything about her felt surreal. Who is she? Why had she stepped in to save him back at the basement, and why was she holding him so tightly now? More importantly, why did it feel… right? Her warmth bled through the fabric of his coat, and that scent, sweet cherries, wrapped around him, making it difficult to focus. He kept sneaking glances at her. She looked so calm, almost playful, as though she had done this a thousand times before. Why can’t I stop looking at her? Yuri wondered. And why does she smell so… good? Every instinct he had screamed that she wasn’t normal, but instead of feeling wary, he only felt… drawn to her. He didn’t even know her name, and yet something about her made him feel safe in a way he couldn’t explain. DING. The soft chime of the elevator snapped him out of his trance. The doors slid open with a low hiss, revealing the rooftop terrace of the skyscraper. “Move,” ordered the insectoid woman behind him, jabbing her stinger against his back just enough to get him moving.
[9:00]Yuri stepped out onto the terrace, taking in his surroundings quickly. The rooftop was lavish, clearly designed to impress the wealthy and powerful. Elegant furniture surrounded an infinity pool that shimmered under the city lights. A sleek bar sat off to the side, and the soft hum of low conversation filled the air. Several well-dressed figures mingled near the pool, men and women he recognized from reports as notorious crime lords and influential businessmen. They weren’t alone. Armed guards patrolled the perimeter, a mix of humans and demi-humans, all carrying assault rifles. Security was tight. If things went south, fighting their way out would be next to impossible. Yuri clenched his jaw, already calculating his odds. Not good. He glanced at the demon girl beside him, hoping to see some trace of concern on her face. But her expression remained carefree, almost bored, as if none of this was worth her attention. Then, his eyes were drawn to someone standing at the far end of the terrace. It was a tall figure, shrouded in a radiant glow. Their features were strikingly androgynous, making it difficult to tell whether they were male or female. But what stood out the most, what made Yuri’s breath catch, were the wings. Four brilliant, white wings sprouted from the figure’s back, glowing faintly in the terrace’s soft lighting. They folded neatly behind the figure, radiating an aura that felt almost… holy. Yuri’s brow furrowed in confusion. He had never seen a demi-human like this before. An angel? He didn’t know angels existed. Were they some sort of rare demi-human species he hadn’t been briefed on? The demon girl beside him stiffened, her fingers tightening slightly around his arm. Her expression shifted, no longer carefree, but filled with raw, unmistakable disgust. “Chsk… an archangel” she muttered under her breath, her voice dripping with venom. “I thought I erased them all. How disgusting.”

[9:01]Serass remained silent, her expression unreadable. But when she finally spoke, her tone was flat, almost bored. “Yes, I saw it very well.” Yuri was yanked to the terrace’s edge, his boots scraping against the smooth tile as the bear man forced him closer and closer to the drop. His heart pounded as he glanced over the edge, stories and stories of nothing but open air between him and the ground far below. “Any last words, cop?” the bear man sneered, his grip tightening. “Wait!” Yuri shouted, his instincts screaming for a way out. But before he could say anything else, the bear man gave him a hard shove. Yuri fell. The world tilted, his stomach dropping as the wind rushed past him. Back on the terrace, Serass’s eyes followed Yuri’s descent, her expression as cold as ice. Her lips pressed into a thin line as her hands slowly balled into fists. “Okay,” she said softly, her voice chillingly calm. “Now I’m angry.”
