Surprise Surprise - Fan story

Finally, Mark exclaimed, standing in front of his apartment door, frustration boiling inside him. It hadn't even been six hours since the event and he was already fed up. The day he'd endured just to get back home.

As if his job wasn't already challenging, the office quickly erupted into chaos as some of his co-workers transformed around him. His desk mate, Jessica, was among those affected. With an instant, she transformed into a magnificent dragoness, her scales shimmering in hues of emerald and gold. Panicked and unable to control her new form, she let out a breath of fire. Marks tidy desk was soon filled with swirling smoke and the smell of burnt paper, as she accidentally incinerated a month's worth of important paperwork, leaving only ashes behind.

Struggling to withstand the pandemonium of the office, he tries to head home. While attempting to flee the office building, he stumbled into an enormous spider web that ensnared the dimly lit halls. To his shock, his middle-aged, balding boss, Mr. Roberts, had transformed into an alluring goddess of an arachnid, her silken white hair cascading over her shoulders and partially veiling her captivating face. She advanced toward him with a seductive intent. Just as he braced himself for an encounter, he never imagined possible with his boss, Rebacca from accounting burst onto the scene—a now well-endowed minotaur, muscles rippling beneath her fur—and charged through the sticky strands entangling herself. "Well, well," cooed the spider-goddess, her lips curling into a mischievous smile, "it seems I've found a more intriguing prey." Mark seized the moment, wriggling free from the treacherous webs and sprinting towards the exit, his heart racing.

Mark pushed through the revolving glass door, emerging into a street alive with frenzy. Hooves clattered against the pavement as a herd of centaurs galloped past, mane and tail streaming behind them. Overhead, harpies flew through the sky, their shrill cries mingling with the distant wail of sirens. All he wanted to do now was make it to his apartment with his girlfriend Jessica. He tried to call her, but the phone lines weren't working. He saw the bus that runs past his apartment at the bus stop. "Finally, something is going my way" he thought to himself. The bus doors swung open with a soft hiss, revealing a peculiar sight: a petite female mermaid squirmed uncomfortably in an oversized bus driver’s uniform, her iridescent tail spilling onto the steps. The name tag on the shirt read “Frank.”

Frank's fin flicked restlessly as she attempted to adjust herself in the cramped driver's seat. "Sorry buddy. I, uh, can't exactly drive like this," she admitted softly, gesturing to her long, iridescent tail that seemed more suited for swimming in a serene, deep blue sea then operating a city bus. Drained from the day's challenges, Mark stepped off the bus and began his three-mile trek home. After an hour-long walk and narrowly escaping being trampled only a few times, he finally reached his apartment. All that stood between him and the sanctuary of his apartment, along with the warm embrace of his girlfriend, was the simple turn of a key.

He swung open the door to his apartment, his heart racing as he took in the extraordinary sight before him. There she was, Jessica, from the waist up exactly as he remembered, but below... a fierce, majestic body of a tiger, sprawled comfortably on the shredded remains of his sofa. "Hey there, tiger" she said, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. "Are you going to say hello, or what?"

"Jessica," he stammered, struggling to find words. "What... what happened to you?"

Jessica let out a soft laugh, her eyes sparkling with mischief and warmth. "Surprise, surprise," she teased, her voice light and playful. "They're calling it 'The Event.' One moment I'm just chilling, watching TV, and the next—bam, this."

He blinked, struggling to process the surreal scene before him. "This... is definitely new," he said, his voice a mix of awe and subtly growing attraction.

"Do you like it?" she purred, her voice carrying a playful lilt as she gently flexed her claws against the couch. "I mean, I kind of owe you a new couch now. But maybe I can make it up to you... in other ways," she added with a suggestive wink.

Mark chuckled, running a hand through his hair as he finally allowed himself to relax. The day's chaos seemed to fade by the surreal and unexpectedly alluring reality before him. "I think I could get used to this," he thought to himself, closing the door behind him with deliberate ease, his eyes drawn irresistibly toward Jessica.
