And while overall thought of as one of the weaker episodes of the series, it does start off strong with Best Pony being her adorable Derpy self! This ep really illustrates that the writers hadn't quite decided on exactly how old the Mane 6 were supposed to be, they are all living successfully on their own and are clearly self sufficient, implying they are young adults; late teens, early 20's equivalent at least; but then you have times when they act far more immature and childish then they should, like here. It's backed up by remarks from the show staff that waffled a lot on how mature they were for the first few seasons, till the show finally settles on the 'young adult' bit as things developed.
