Minxes are so called for their fur, which feels like minky fabric! They are a scrappy species with feline attributes, and far back in their evolution they had a tendency to despise one another. To avoid extinction, they adapted to having fur that heightens dopamine levels when pet which encourages friendliness amongst themselves.
However, this feature has sprouted a lot of stereotypes for the species. They are often regarded as a pet-like species that tend to get hired in "adult" industries. Often times, people assume they can pet one whenever they'd like, which creates tension between Minxes and other species when the Minx may not comply.
Furthermore, getting into relationships with other species can be difficult for Minxes, since some partners will get addicted to them.
