Commercial Licenses - Information

With the launch of the Curator ($10) Tier I am now offering Commercial Licenses for use with my Patreon maps. Meaning you can use the maps released through Patreon as part of a published adventure or module.

So what does this mean?

Basically you can use any 3 Patreon maps (new or from the Archive), per month of Curator Tier pledge for commercial purposes, as long as:

• You are an active Patron at the Curator ($10) Tier and your monthly limits are set to 4x your pledge amount.

• You must have been a patron at the Curator Tier for at least 1 month (and been successfully billed) prior to the publication of products containing my artwork.

• You include a watermark on the artwork or a ‘substantial credit’ identifying The Reclusive Cartographer as the map artist. Find watermarks attached to this post.

• You use them as part of an adventure or module and do not resell the artwork or assets as separate entities. No more than 50% of any publication can be composed of my artwork.

• You are a ‘small company’ who’s revenue does not exceed $50,000 annually. If you represent a larger organisation that wishes to license my maps, then please contact me separately to discuss licensing

• You send any publications to me in advance of release, at which time I reserve the right to remove my maps if I feel they have been used inappropriately or the encompassing material is offensive or obscene.

• You do not alter the artwork in any way, including but not limited to: cropping, altering the proportions, recolouring or otherwise modifying the artwork.

• You do not use any maps created as part of a collaboration or are otherwise covered by copyright, these will be clearly marked as and when they come up.

EXAMPLE: You pledge at Curator Level on January 1st - You want to license 6 maps for your upcoming adventure about a murderous badger that is trying to take over the world. Great!

Once your Jan/Feb pledges are successfully billed, and provided you have met all the above requirements, you are good to go!

You will retain the commercial usage rights to my artwork in published products if you cancel your patronage or change to a lower tier, but will no longer be eligible to use my artwork in any further commercial products.

But what about streaming or professional DMs?

You are more than welcome to use any of my content for streaming and for games that you are being paid to run at any Patreon tier. However, I do ask that you are an active Patron and identify me as the artist of the map, and include a link to my patreon on the title card of the video and/or website respectively.
