September's Monster competition!

Hi there! Apologies for not having a monster giveaway last month but it was a bit of a crazy one!

However this month's giveaway is the beautiful candy mite from Trying Candy From Different Dimensions Part 3 (I'll probably remove the actual piece of candy before shipping)!

During my research I was unable to uncover any further information on the little critter so to be in with a chance of winning them all I need you to do is to tell me some information about their life cycle!

So here's how to enter:

- Comment below this post with some information about the life cycle of the candy mite.

- One entry per patron, that's just to stop the comment section from getting too spammy (feel free to edit or change your response as much as you like though)

- Cut off to enter is 1st October 10am GMT

- I will choose the winner and announce it in a post on Patreon and then I'll need to DM you to ask for postage details and address etc.

I think that's everything, feel free to send me a DM if you have any queries!

Good luck and I can't wait for one of you to be the proud new parent of my beautiful candy mite!

The Candy Mite (scientific name Sugartes candiei jar.) is a creature that was recently discovered on planet Nevas in Sector A-E11. It’s appearance (fully developed) is a meaty spider-like entity with a delicious delicacy within. It’s life begins with being formed within the middle of a Hurtleberry, which for this reason, has been advised not to eat. The mite will remain a small meaty yet sweet ball the size of a measle until exposed to sunlight. The chemicals within the air (which as of writing this has no scientific name) will allow the creature to develop into the Candy Mite. The first stage is the growth of the body in general, and once finished, will begin the second, which is where the legs will sprout outwards. This process will take 5-7 months and will result in a full Candy Mite. Once fully formed, the Mite’s new life objective will become extending their lifespan using their host’s energy and chemicals (the host usually being a Scronk as they tend to have the most chemicals and will die quicker than usual) and will become aggressive and hostile in search of one. Once a host is found, the Mite will slowly drain the energy of the host, causing it to feel dreary, along with itchy skin. This process is called Flavouring and can take up to 10 to 13 months. When the process is finished, the host dies and the Mite will move on. This will continue happening until the Mite is eaten or runs out of energy. The longest a Mite has ever lived is 15 years.

The candy mite is born from the dusty remains of unpopular, unsellable candy. Usually liquorice or some other ye olde sweet. They crawl around and eat any sugary confection they can get their hands on. In terms of reproducing they commune with their potential partners with love hearts leading to a very sweet relationship. This, however comes to a very quick end as the female candy mite consumes the male after tentically intercourse.

If a candy mite is removed from the undercoat of their host and left in the open air, their outer membrane will thicken to conserve moisture, turning their normally gummy texture into more of a taffy mouthfeel. Many people refer to this process as 'air-curing' the candy mites.

The candy mite is actually more of a parasitic worm. It’s eggs are found in unsanitary candy; the candy+eggs are eaten by an unsuspecting human. The eggs then bind to the gut of the human and feed on the flesh and grow. Eventually they grow so large that the human needs to sh*t them out. The mites then remain in the faeces which are transported into the sea by EVIL water companies. Then somehow they swim to plantations of candy trees and lay eggs on the candy fruit before dying.

Similar to spiders, Candy Mites are born from egg sacs, which usually contain about a dozen mites each. Once these eggs hatch, the mites will attempt to climb up the local flora to gain some height, where they will wait for a Scronk to come along and rub against the mites, allowing them to latch on to the Scronk's rough fur with their barbed legs. When a mite is latched on to the Scronk, they will attempt to dig into the hair follicles of the Scronk, as this provides easy access to the nutritious fluids inside of a Scronk. This process unfortunately causes pain, hair-loss, and general discomfort to the Scronk, however it usually isn't lethal. The mites will stay attached and feed off the Scronk for around 6-8 months. After this period, the mites will have grown to 3x the size, and will begin to lay eggs in the Scronk's remaining fur. These egg sacs will usually fall out of the fur quite easily, allowing the cycle to continue.

Ceborg

the candy mite is an quite interesting little fella. its live cycle beginns as a seed that looks a bit like a wallnut, then the seed gets eaten by a scronk in whichs belly the seed grows till it finaly hatches. depending on what the scronk ate during the developmental state of the mine, the candy can taste different every time. when the mine is finally old enough it gets pooped out of the scronk and imidiently attaces itself on the poor bird to be kept safe from predators. But still the mite has serious and dangerous predators and the most dangerous of them all: the human race from planet earth. But, if the candy mite manages to live long enough it will fall off the bird like a tik and slowly decay, in this state the candy mite can duplicate itself a few times and with a little luck it will be eaten by another scronk and relife its life once more.

Trustworthy guy

These little things are predators of baby Blorfs, however, when the Blorfs grow up, things are reversed. They do it because the baby mites need the flesh for their sugary taste, which helps to defend them from predators

Environmental factors such as the colour and flavour of the Scronk, can influence the appearance and taste of the candy mite's sugary secretions.
