Mandalorian Knight v1 - Mando inspired helmet

Hey everyone!

After that Peacemaker helmet I really wanted to make another one and for a long time I was planning to make a Mandalorian helmet. Problem was that there are already so many of those out there so I wanted to create something different. I haven't seen one with the movable front part so i decided to do that one first :)

I was playing around with different colors and for my final render I was inspired by the Bo-Katan's color scheme.

I still need to finish my Viking version of the helmet (wings and some other stuff) :D

As you can see in the title, I've marked this one as V1. Since I really don't have a lot of experience with helmets I think in a near future I will have to go back and do some changes, locking mechanisms etc. We'll see :D

There are 2 front parts. one has two blockades while the other one moves freely and you can rotate the part all the way back.

Sad story about this print...

I've sliced the front part into 3 pieces to fit on my Prusa while the helmet was printed at max scale on another MK3s without any separation. Both things were printed at the same time and after 19 hours of printing I've noticed on my security cam that the front part was failing so I've sent a message to my wife to turn the printer off.

Shortly after that, I got a message from her: Done!

But on the camera, I saw that print going and then I've realized: she has stopped the wrong printer...

A few hours later I've attempted to save the print, opened a gcode, watched some tutorials on Youtube on how to do it (thanks to Stefan from CNC kitchen for making that video) but I've moved my print bed manually and I couldn't use one of two easy ways to do that. My only option was to home the printer and continue that print but the problem was that there was no room for it since my entire build plate was full.

I was desperate and I didn't want to start over so I did the Indiana Jones thing..., I've switched build plates and hit the print. The Head went to do the homing position and before it started the print I hit the pause button, switched plates back and my print continued. It wasn't a perfect alignment but it did the trick :)

Then my cat had a fight with the spool, then I had to switch the filament... for the last hour I was sitting next to the printer just to be sure that nothing bad will happen :D

Surprisingly this was a perfect fit for my head so it ended well :)

I need to try to sand it and paint it over the weekend :)

Have a great day everyone!

More SW stuff coming soon :)
