Mini Starman

Hey everyone!

This mini dude was created last year in June and at the beginning it looked slightly different :D

My kid loves David Bowie and last year after some other phases (Metallica, Foo Fighters, Queen, Depeche Mode, Queens of the stone age, Johnny Cash) she was playing his albums non-stop.

Blackstar was on repeat every day, every drawing she did had Bowie in some form and she even forced my wife to make her a plush toy of Ziggy. What can I say, I'm a proud father :D

She was really sad when she found out that he has passed away when she was 2 years old and I wanted to cheer her up so I started making this...

It was a goofy little model that put a smile on her face but I wasn't happy with the rest of it. That iconic look that I was trying to create was on the cover of his album Aladdin Sane and he wasn't wearing anything else so I had to be creative.

At the same time I had chat with some awesome people in my discord about the idea of printing one mini dude and sending it into space so I'm pretty sure that influenced this design... that and Major Tom ofc :)

This is actually the first time I'm sharing this version with anyone here. I kept it to myself and I never planned to release it as a 3d printing model because part of me thought that this was disrespectful. That's why my final version has a helmet but if you go through the slicer you will still see some glimpses of the original model inside.

Some of these renders have tubes that I've decided to remove because they were making it a bit harder to print.

So that's the story behind this little model :D

When we started talking about the idea of creating one of my mini dudes as the NFT I knew that I need to pick the one that is very special to me and this model was my first and only option.

I have to admit that I was really nervous to release this (I still am) but I couldn't miss the chance of creating my first Mini Dude NFT :)
