The Bride's Tower

Hansry... Hans and Henry... Lord and his squire... A noble damsel in distress and his peasant knight in shining armor... Don't ask how the peasant could afford 10k+ worth of shining armor... shhh...
In case anyone is looking for real good medieval vibes, I recommend kingdom come deliverance games. You'll see more of these guys from me for sure πŸ˜‚

I'm highkey obsessed with the new coloring technique I tried with this, usually I do all flat colors in bright color and opaque ink brush, but here I layed a blue baselayer and then crosshatched the color little by little on top of that with a transparent pencil brush. I've been little too scared to "muddy up" the colors before, but I feel it worked out great!

I also had to check myself for a bit there because everything feels so fast paced right now and I could feel myself slipping into anxiety over having to have everything done immediately, like I'm some factory conveyer belt. As in, I'd start sketching something and then panic when it wasn't going fast enough and I couldn't finish it right away the same day, at the push of a button. And that goes too close to the "art equals content"-line which I haaaateeeeeee.
So I had a lovely time taking a full week just lovingly wanking around this single piece, without worrying when I'm going to finish it. Good times. Highly recommend!

Omg as a knight I promise to serve and protect the smuts! (All very true though! 🧑)

Thank you so much! Next time I color the same way, I'll try and remember to capture some footage of it 😊

Okay im super fascinated by this coloring technique, do you have a speedpaint of it? I adore your anatomy and coloring to bits like ..you are so good at your craft man. The hard work shows!

Knights were just like artists, if they weren't born rich, they required patrons to maintain their profession. (And the patron was also the person who benefited from their craft)
