Hello, my dear Freshmen!
We’re moving forward with our corrections, and this week we’ll tackle our biggest hurdle: fixing animations! Me and 2 other team members joined in with our animator to give him tech support and fix minor issues, while he focuses on the more demanding animations.
Renders: Our renders are basically done. A few extra things were fixed today, and everything is rendering now. They should be done rendering tonight. Tomorrow we’ll give them a fresh look to ensure everything is in order.
Animations: Today I sat down with our animator and two other team members, we split up our tasks and went to work. Our animator is working on an animation that demands more specialized work, and me and the other team members are working on less demanding animations. We managed to fix 3 of them today, and sent them to render on preview mode. If their preview comes out okay, we’ll send them to final render. While they are rendering, we already started working on our next fixes.
Sound Design: We finalized negotiations with our Voice Actress so she can record a new voice pack, and she should be done in a few days. Once we have this material, we’ll forward it to our Sound Designer, so he can implement it in the animation sounds.
Skins: our skins are done rendering, and I’m putting them into the game now. They seem to be working fine, but, I still want to give them a thorough look, to ensure they are not blurry or have lighting issues.
Today, I also sat down with our whole team, and explained our new release strategy to them. I believe that transparency is essential in our projects, be it when talking to you or talking to our team, so today we had a long conversation about where we failed, why we failed, and what we’ll do in the future so it doesn’t happen again.
These conversations are never easy, but, I believe these are the truly necessary conversations, the ones that form a stronger team, fully committed to our common goals and dreams. The path to that is to create a solid culture, focused on honesty and humanity. This will make us stronger, better, and make expansion easier in the future. I want to make sure we grow while respecting these values and maintaining a healthy work environment.
