Alot of AVN's I play (ie AOA Academy, University of Problems, etc) release beta, extended, public, etc and other versions for different tiers, with upper teirs getting extra content not directly related to the story/plot (ie extra renders/options in lewd scenes), like extended director's cuts for movies.
