8 months of liquid gold and my lil chunk is thriving π€©
I always knew I wanted to breastfeed- the superior benefits to mama & baby are undeniable.
We have luckily had a very natural & seamless breastfeeding journey. And Iβm super grateful for it, as I know itβs not the case for everyone.
But I also believe if mamas had a better support system, more encouragement & proper education around the benefits - there would be a lot more breastfed babies!!
I also support that every woman should chose to feed their baby in whatever way works for their family, without guilt β€οΈ but only after being fully informed and given adequate support if needed. (Not pushed into formula out of fear π)
Iβve personally chosen to exclusively breastfeed. I feed on demand. I donβt worry about a schedule. I just tune into my baby and I know what he needs. Whether heβs hungry or just needs connection- itβs up to him how much/often he wants to nurse.
Yes, itβs demanding but this is what i believe is best for us and these moments are so special π₯Ή he wonβt need me in this way forever, and Iβm soaking it all in.
I share this in case other mamas feel this pull to do things differently. To cut out the noise and do what YOU feel is right. It seems weβve lost touch with our own intuition and are looking towards books, schedules, βexpertsβ and what everyone else says we should do- instead of trying to understand how our babies are communicating with us.
And this is coming from someone who was very type-a, schedule oriented pre-baby π€ͺ
I hope we can get back to trusting ourselves and our little ones. And I hope that any mama who wants to breastfeed can get the support she needs to make it happen π₯° donβt give upβ itβs sooo worth it β€οΈ
