@#$%ing Appleseed
Added 2022-04-08 17:01:03 +0000 UTCOkay, so cable isn't hooked up in my room, so I mostly watch streaming television these days, and one of the anime channels I watch will occasionally put the 1988 Appleseed OVA on fairly heavy rotation. It's cheesy, it's dated, and I kinda love it. There's just something about late 80's/early 90's anime that hits different. One trend I've noticed in the more "mature" anime of the era is an excessive amount on unnecessary swearing, I assume to prove to no one in particular how "these cartoons ain't for kids!" or whatever, and Appleseed is no exception.
Well, a couple months back, I decided to make a compilation of all the random, unnecessary swearing in Appleseed. In hindsight, I think it might have been a distraction to the shitty stuff I had going on at the time; a sort-of Ben Wyatt-style "Do you think a depressed person could make this?" sort of thing, but I still get a kick out of the final result. I wasn't really sure the best way to share it, though, so I ended up just sitting on it for a while, until today when I decided to finally show it off to you fine folks. It's pretty different from the sort of thing I usually post here, but it's still technically a creative work of mine, so I guess it counts? Anyway, I hope you all enjoy it.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go back to staring into the void while pondering the phrase "a piece of piss".
