We just make happy accidents."
So, yeah, my oil painting livestream last night ended up bombing due to technical issues. My laptop, which usually works fine, picked last night to suddenly run like molasses, and even though my broadcasting program showed me that I was live the entire time, apparently no one was able to watch me for more than a minute or two before my feed cut out. It's frustrating, too, because I actually felt like it was a good stream! I know I'm not usually very talkative on these things (or in general, tbh) but I actually did the whole Bob Ross thing of explaining what I was doing and talking about the scene I was building. It was probably the most I've ever chatted on a stream... and it was all to myself. lol
But I'm taking it in stride. I've already decided to write off last night as a dress rehearsal and will be trying this again in a couple weeks after I've figured out a better set up for a hopefully more stable stream. Plus I have a painting class with a certified Bob Ross instructor here in about a week and a half, so I might have a few more tricks in the painting department as well.
In the meantime, even if the stream didn't work out, I think the painting I did turned out pretty okay. I was kinda focused on the streaming aspect of it, so there's a few things I'd do differently if I was doing it as a regular composition. I was basing it off of this video from an incredible artist on YouTube called HappyTreesArtByBram, who's been the inspiration for my last three paintings now, but it ended up looking pretty different in the end. I hope you all like it!
Fingers crossed for next time!
