Game of Thrones 4x9 | JON SNOW...

If I remember correctly the direwolves actors were really hard to work with so they only put them in essential scenes

Also I love the idea that the wall has so many fun little booby traps set in there over the years to keep invaders out. I think the Syche is the coolest one

These full battle episodes are always so amazing for me. They're just like a masterpiece of television creation. How many people, days, sets have to be involved to make this happen. I know you haven't decided what additional content you will check out yet but for what it's worth I would love to check out some behind the scences on these bigger spectacle episodes. Even on stream or something. I'm going strictly off memory so I may be wrong but I think the Direwolves are not in the show as much as you might expect because they were insanely expensive to animate. like even more than the dragons. Probably has something to do with how much movement is required to have them in battle. I think the last moments between Jon and Ygritte are supposed to be really bittersweet and even a little bit vague. Like you could kind of read it as if she was about to drop the bow but in the heat of battle would she have gone ahead and shot him? I wasn't the most invested in their romance overall but I still found it sad. Very Romeo and Juliet style although at least it's a happier Easter egg now since those two actors are married in real life.

I actually discovered this book series "late" considering the first book was published in the '90s. I didn't hear about it until the 5th book was coming out and everyone was super excited so I started to read it and I hadn't been spoiled on anything so I got to experience all the crazy stuff like Ned only being in book one, the red wedding, The purple wedding, Oberyn and even some stuff that never made it into the show. I knew there was a long gap between books four and five but I wasn't sweating it because they had already announced a show was being made and I was like "surely the show will entertain me until the next book comes out" 😂😂😂 Now it's been 14 years with no end of our waiting in sight. What makes it even worse is the next book isn't even the last book it's supposed to be the second to last book. At this point I'm actually satisfied that I've gotten the most of the GOT story through the showand I do like the prequels and side stories so if we never get the last two books it's unfortunate but I'll survive. I hadn't heard that the author wanted 12 seasons specifically but I do know that he wanted the show to be handled differently in the latter seasons. We can definitely talk about it more once you get there.

I don't remember Jon's friend's name, but the Red-Headed guy and Pip's death made me sad. They were always on Jon's side, and they grew (With Jon's Help) to be amazing Nightswatchmen. I agree. I wish Ghost got a little more action after Sam let him out. It's always entertaining to watch the wolves do their thing! Sam has also turned out to be an amazing character, same thing with the other two. His relationship with Jon really helped him start the growth process of his character development, but Gilly is the big factor of turned Sam into a brave Man. I liked his conversation w/ Pip about HOW he killed the walker. And the parallel of that conversation w/ Arya, and How Being "No One" makes it easier to kill due to there not being any reason to be afraid!! I never made that connection until this time watching.

Yggrits death destroyed me. The only thing that saves me is that the actors fell in love irl and married

"love is the death of duty" is one of my favorite lines from this show. Think about Ned lying about being guilty so he could save his daughters. Think about Robb losing the war because of love. On the other hand though Jon sacrifices his love for duty, an interesting juxtaposition. Is one right and one wrong? In the end, who ends up in a better place? Jon or Robb? What was the right answer? "But you're afraid now?" "Well yes...I'm not nothing anymore" I will bring this line back up later cause it relates to so many characters.

He is STRUTTING indeed. He's like "I may not be a fighter but I'm about to butcher some meat"

there's 5 books out (i say as i stare at them on my bookshelf begging me to finish reading them), and the show starts to stray from them in this season, season 6 on is when they ran out of og material. but iirc they got some pointers from the author for some broad plots later on. the 5th book came out in 2011, so... yeaaa... ngl we'll probably never know what all GRRM (the author) "wanted to showcase" lmao
