2025-02-28 05:47:03 +0000 UTCTLDR: Light and L are very similar, so much so that L knows pre memory loss Light would have some elaborate set up to come out on top and is trying not to die. the thing about L, he's never been wrong. like never in his life. this guy is so smart, that the idea of being wrong about something actually doesn't enter his brain. He knew Light was Kira, that was a fact, until he wasn't. The fact that Kira slipped away, leaving memory loss Light behind, left him really depressed for awhile, he still hasn't really recovered from being so close and having it slip through his fingers. That's why he's so on edge with this Yotsuba suspect situation, he CAN'T allow himself to let Kira slip away again. At this point, he's figured out that Kira is somehow the power to kill, and it can be controlled and/or controls different hosts. he needs to prevent it from jumping again and going back to square one. He also knows that the Light version of Kira would have thought ahead enough to reclaim his throne - that guy's ego wouldn't allow him to step away forever. If he was Kira once, he can become so again. L knows this because he now knows Light, he has a deep understanding of how he thinks. So now not only does he have to catch Kira number 3, he also has to do so in a way where he can make sure Light doesn't try anything. very stressful. You are 100% right on the writing comparing the two and painting a parallel. They both have a similar psychological distance from those around them
