Comments
well i'm late af but ayy i liked this season a lot. i'm shocked it exceeded my expectations, i think it's equal to season one in quality, if not better in most ways. season 1 has the iconic moments sure, but imo season 2 has more solid writing. saw a lot of people saying the last episode is trash, but i think this was insaaaane. maybe people would have been more okay with this ending if they promoted it as a 2 part season.

2025-01-05 03:00:39 +0000 UTCthat would have been cool!! aka him saying to jungbae like come with me cause you're my friend. front man played a role greatly i didn't see any slip ups in his acting with him either!

2025-01-05 03:00:25 +0000 UTCi'm so glad I watched this even though the internet was saying it was bad lol I'm also glad I stuck through Top's acting (i'll admit, he got better as the show progressed) i think it was a great season! i was stressed so much this episode and i'm really excited for part 3!! do you think Gihun should have been suspicious of front man/player 001? ppl online were saying he should have been, but i didn't see anything in his actions that would warrant Gihun's suspicions...

2025-01-05 00:08:21 +0000 UTComg you were so right about the captain! i didn't clock him as a bad guy at all, but it makes sense. he was the one to pull Junho out of the water and i can only assume that's something he had to have done quickly if Junho lived, which means the captain must have been on payroll patrolling the waters around the island.

2025-01-05 00:03:39 +0000 UTCThoughts from this episode: I'm pretty sure the riot was considered a special game in season 1 as well I just can't remember exactly how they incited it or maybe they just know it will happen based on the nature of the people playing. I find it so interesting that Gi Hun argued with the front man around the morality of them attacking the side that voted to stay first before the riot but his whole coup plan hinged on letting people from both sides kill each other without intervening even though it put their side at a disadvantage with most of their strong people hiding. Frontman practically called him a hypocrite over it although I understand the wartime decision of it all it's just interesting how people rationalize things. I know there are too many stories to truly be told but I was hoping that Se-mi (the girl with the lip ring) would be a more major character just cuz she seemed really interesting and they even hinted at her having something keeping her in the game so I thought they'd show her backstory Dae-Ho's position is very pitiable. Like it's hard to be the one who folds in the face of danger but not many people have ever experienced this type of thing. Even if he was in the Marines there's no guarantee that he's ever faced active combat like this so I can't blame him. I also did not expect the dad/246 to die. that made me really sad. To play the game he's just gone and his daughter won't know what happened to him and how will she get her treatment now. I could definitely see the front man selling this whole debacle to the VIPs as an "extra special edition" of the game with twists and turns. They must get bored seeing the same thing over and over again. That's how Gi Hun even pitched himself returning to the game so. Even the little spectacle killing Jung Bae to prove a point and put him back in the game seems exactly like what these sickos would be looking for to prove their whole theory about these people being the vermin of humanity or whatever.

2025-01-04 23:46:17 +0000 UTCPretty much just agreeing with everyone else who really enjoyed the season despite the dissenters. I thought they did a great job of: 1) resetting the stakes of who our main characters are and what their motivations are 2) showing lots of character development for our MC (it's actually hard to believe this guy is the same hot mess loser that started out in season 1) 3) still having some shock value moments despite us already knowing what the games are about and what to expect unlike season 1 4) adding rich backstories for new characters so that we actually give a crap if/when they die I did not look at the episode count when I started watching this season and just assumed it was 9 so I got to the end of 7 and went to watch episode 8.. only to realize that no such thing existed. I was so flabbergasted that I really thought my app was glitching on me or something. My one criticism of the season would definitely have been not wanting to wait too long for a season 3 but since at this point we already know season 3 is coming most likely by June 2025 I can't even be too mad. Basically the way the writer explained it is he had season 2 all mapped out and then realized it would be too much to fit into one season so split it into two. I'm sure there's a little media play there and Netflix knows that two additional 7 episode seasons will make them more money than one additional 14 episodes season but whatever I'm not going to be mad since I don't have to wait too long. I did not see this post credit scene on my first watch also not that anything really happened

2025-01-04 23:39:14 +0000 UTCHonestly I kinda liked that this was only 7 eps bc it gave the mission more hope. Like if they did this and there was 6 more episodes after you’d know they were gonna fail as soon as the episode started. This like plays with us more

2025-01-04 19:06:29 +0000 UTCI'm pretty sure it's illegal to get that kind of military tattoo if you haven't actually served in Korea, so Daeho definitely didn't lie. He was just forced to join the marines because of the toxic masculinity that his father pushed onto him. Especially seen when Daeho thought Hyunju was going to hit him for failing to help out. But she knows better because she's been through the same thing regarding toxic masculinity, not fitting into what a "man" should be and didn't get angry with him. Pookie just wanted to chill with his sisters and play gonggi. That's why it also pisses me off that people say Daeho wasn't manning up or whatever because they're literally contributing to that toxic masculinity that the show wanted to make a message out of.

2025-01-04 16:31:56 +0000 UTCI wish I thought of the trauma from his time serving possibly instead of in that moment! I thought that was immediate effects of him seeing people die around him while I was watching, until the flinch scene. It's crazy that people could even think that's less manly or cowardly lol, the way humans can be programmed is wild.

2025-01-04 16:29:30 +0000 UTCWhat! I didn't know there was hate I don't get that! Yeah, him flinching made it seem like he was bullied during his time and whatnot, made me think of D.P. (sorry to mention that yall lol) . I enjoyed it! Can't wait for the next.

2025-01-04 07:04:37 +0000 UTCBro I thought this season was amazing yes it can’t live up to feelings of season 1 but something new like that in the time we were living is hard to beat, but damn I thought the story telling and the lead ups and intensity of everything was great, you know when people are hating on characters they acted well and you know when people complain about cliffhangers it’s because they want more and can’t admit, at least in my opinion lol For the daeho part I agree with a lot of the comments here, I felt pity for him he clearly has been through something, I felt it from the beginning like he was putting on a facade of a matcho soldier only to be hiding the fear inside, maybe he witnessed some ptsd or it almost felt like he was abused in a way or both, especially felt it when hyun ju went to grab the bullets and he flinched Over all great, there’s so many theories and world building going on I love it, but sad it’s short but yeah I don’t get the hate

2025-01-04 06:59:34 +0000 UTCThey should have released all seasons at once like a 20 or 30 episode drama bc the plot is seamlessly written and we need to get places with the story insteading of waiting months to know what happens! I do think tho this season made things more interesting for me!

2025-01-04 06:00:08 +0000 UTCI’m so happy Hyun ju survived bc I truly would have been on my knees throwing up if they got clapped too so shout out to the mom stepping up. And i feel so validated that the Captain of the ship was a bad guy! Like i got bad vibes from earlier in the season and my friends didn’t know what I was talking about so now I don’t feel crazy💀 I had no idea how they were gonna make a s2 and 3 outta this show without repeating the story to maintain the hype but I’m soooo happy they lived up to it! I saw some people saying it wasn’t as good as the first season but I think it’s unfair to compare the two bc with the first season it was so new and we didn’t know what to expect with the games nor show. But of course with the second season we know exactly what goes on in these games and what Gihun goal is it takes away the shock factor and mystery that can’t be recaptured thus “not being as good as the first” I’m not mad at it for ending on a “hopeless” cliffhanger because the episodes were definitely solid, but I hope they don’t take 3 years for it😭 I saw some people saying they just skipped the first 2 episodes so they could get to the games cause they didn’t care about anything else and I was like dang man, ones who need to hear the layered messages don't have the capacity to understand it. Either way I loved this season and it was definitely fun watching with you too.

2025-01-04 05:52:49 +0000 UTCagreed it's better than s1! okay see, june 2025, is still within that 6 month period i was hoping for so i am definitely pleased with that date!

2025-01-04 05:52:40 +0000 UTCI’m ngl though i did not expect Jungbae or the father of the sick girl to die and now i’m just in shambles! The fact that Gihun is definitely gonna blame himself for it and now has to add him to the list of close friends he watched die. On top of that he believes he also got Young il killed just like Il nam and is gonna have to deal with yet another betrayal. If they put him back in the games I have a feeling a lot of the people are gonna blame him for what happened too since it was his plan and make him feel more broken and put a target on his back

2025-01-04 05:50:14 +0000 UTCI felt so bad for Daeho, i don’t think he was lying about being in the Marines but he obviously had a major hard time with it especially since it seemed like he didn’t wanna go to begin with but was pushed by his father and maybe didn’t get an honorable discharge? or at least it didn’t do what his father wanted it to do since he suffered with PTSD and my guess is he was viewed as less manly and more “cowardly” because of it.

2025-01-04 05:47:16 +0000 UTCI need to live no matter what just to see season 3. This was the best episode for sure 💥

2025-01-04 05:21:20 +0000 UTCAlso the parallels from season one and two with gihun on the ground wailing looking at his dead friend? That’s cinema

2025-01-04 05:20:16 +0000 UTCFrom the spoilers i got and the way ppl were talking, i thought daeho was gonna be the biggest betrayal of the season… yet all i felt was pity for him. Honestly just wanted to hug him.

2025-01-04 05:19:26 +0000 UTCThere is so much debate about Dae-ho. I believe he was in the Marines and just has major PTSD. I never thought he was lying, nor was I frustrated with him one bit this episode like that is a realistic response to all that craziness happening around you for a regular person or even a marine/ex-marine/army, etc. He probably could have also just been in another field not involving guns, or he just never deployed/ or got exempt during or even before. Or hell maybe he did lie and if he did ain’t that serious honestly. One of the main theories is that he might have gone through something that happened in real life in Korea, and that may somehow connect that event and could play a role in his character. he said his class was 1149th, i believe, and ( according to many videos ive seen) that would mean that he would have joined in 2011 around april. but in July of 2011 (this is actual real life) there was an incident that happened in Korea where a soldier opened fire on soldiers who bullied him so if this ends up playing into his character this could be an explanation as well. And not even that but notice he also flinched when hyunjin went to grab the ammunition he legit thought he was gonna get hit or something so it’s something going on there to much to be a lie

2025-01-04 05:02:50 +0000 UTCI don't care what all these other people online with no brains have been, saying this season was def amazing. the plot itself the character development, is definitely better than s1 which is rare for second seasons. I didn't think it would stretch till season 3 but shoot it makes sense and i love it. plus its also the same people saying this season sucked that didn't even know the frontman was the frontman and not just an actual regular player like ...u clearly didn't watch s1 and u talking shit lol. Netflix accidentally released s3 date haha. expected June 2025 unless they change it. But OMG this whole season im like where do i know one of the back actors from (145, the one who said to surrender) he was in Bloodhounds the man who got his legs sanded down. and apparently the post end game scene is jack and jill
