patreon

thoughts?!

also, what do you guys think i could bring over to the kpop channel to post in addition to mvs?

Comments

i agree with the playlists thought!!!! that could help make it easier for kpop/anime/GOT fans to find the content they want & lesson stress at the same time by keeping one channel. 👍🏻👍🏻

Lele

yeah i just talked to twins, i didn't know they were coming back on the channel i'll see how they look in the future. i'm going to look those up! thank you

anthonytoo

thanks for your positivity, always!

anthonytoo

Ahh you weren't able to see the vid. I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on combining channels because I don't like the idea of managing two pages post frequencies (which is why there's everything on this one patreon. I know that most of my viewers come from kpop but I'm glad that I still want to be involved in the kpop community so I don't think I'm in a position similar to the channel you mentioned. That makes sense.

anthonytoo

Hmm. Twins react came back and are doing crime stuff as well as kpop. Alovelypenguin reacts to different things as well as kpop. Core4VT does it as well. GHOULS react to shows and kpop. Those are the only ones I can think of on the top of my head

Michelle Lanie

yeahhh I have a love-hate relationship with short form content 😅 but it’s worth a try to see how it does

imani

For some reason the video isn’t loading for me, based on the comments it seems you wanna do more than just kpop, anime etc. (if not correct me lol) There’s a 50/50 with these -Good part is most people are watching just for you -“Bad” part is some people are most likely just here for the K-pop/kdrama dynamic since that’s what you promote on your YouTube channel which is probably where 99.9 percent of the people on here came from. -I think combining is good, however I have seen some channels do it, take NSP Show/Reacts for example: they made a Patreon solely on K-pop related stuff since that’s what their viewer demographic was but decided to quit since no one was reacting to their non K-pop stuff and they wanted more than just kpop and they realized to get rid of that demographic they had to quit K-pop altogether and take a break 😅 !!! -Just checked and NSP show is doing great and look happy with their new channel!! So I would say it’s risky but is also your channel, but the only led up question to this is: Are you willing to possibly be stressed juggling two different audiences? That’s what you should ask yourself in my opinion!! It makes the choice easier

Skater Hari

Thinking about it from the perspective of how it is on patreon as well (like you say) knowing what goes up and tune in when you want, makes sense. I just don't want youtube on a schedule like that tbh, but I appreciate the perspective and the references I will look into that! Gotta find a middle ground or something.

anthonytoo

i KNOW, i hate tiktok fr, short form content sucks. i might end up trying it actually though, before they delete it from the US if that's still a thing.

anthonytoo

trueee!

anthonytoo

this might be kinda off topic but it came to mind as I was watching this. idk if you already do this but have you thought abt posting short clips/highlights of your reactions (particularly anime openings or kpop songs) on TikTok to help gain more traction to the channel? that might be more work for you + copyright issues but I’ve gotten interested in some reactors through TikTok so I wanted to share. also, I think TikTok would be a good place to post some clips of your fashion content as well! I’m saying this but tbh I’m not very well versed in TikTok LOL so I’m just thinking based off of what I see on my fyp and throwing it out there

imani

I agree with you ^ I think playlists is a good way to go if you wanna combine the channels. I also like core4vt and mainly just tune in for their drama reactions but them posting a larger range of content never bothers me bc sometimes it gets me interested in different things. so I think having everything on one channel wouldn’t be so bad from a viewer standpoint

imani

my only concern for combining things on the youtube front would be copyright strikes. Having more than one channel helps you keep running if they lock you down. Obviously you could just open another channel if you needed to, but having another channel that already has subscribers makes things a little simpler.

Amanda

yoooo sometimes i wish this had a voice note option to make it easier but also i do NAWT like my voice so nvm ANYWAYS will try to keep this simple bc i type too much on here; - i think if you want to combine channels, you can; people are watching for YOU. if you have them organized into playlists, it will be easier for people to see the content they want and ignore what they don’t - a channel i enjoy that does anime, western shows, movies, AND still reacts to kpop is a group of guys (Core4VT Reacts), i enjoy watching all of this so having it in one channel is perfect for people who like it all - it may be difficult to get those who subscribed SOLELY to toopiece over to anthonytoo but i think you can do it! (we’ve gone through many patreon pages so the ones who want to, WILL come back) a question i have is if you DO combine, are you leaving all the videos on toopiece with something in the description box telling people to go to your other channel?

jam

I'm excited to see these fashion videos!

mssmercedes

Yeah I definitely think this is one of those no perfect answer scenarios. The interesting thing is from a content and enjoyment standpoint I don't think there would be any issue with you combining the channels. I think the thing that makes it hardest for me to give a recommendation is not still fully grasping how the YouTube algorithm works. Doesn't like channels that can be categorized under various niches and does it push those videos out more or not? Maybe if you're posting everything on one channel and it sees that you post every day regardless of content it's considered a good thing, or not? Reason I'm focusing on this is because I think the content is great and if enough people stumble upon it you will probably find people who convert over from the other channels and either just watch what they like or Branch out into all your different content categories I'm just not so sure of whether or not YouTube will try to help or harm you when doing that it's unfortunate that that's so important. I don't think that was helpful but I guess all I can say is I think all the content on one channel is cool because it leads to more frequent posting overall and I've always been told that YouTube likes that.

mssmercedes

yeah ill look him up but see that's the thing like people always end up leaving the kpop space and that's not my intention so it's kinda eh.

anthonytoo

exactly which it why having 2 channels makes sense you can ignore the channel with content youre not interested in, blindwave works with one channel because of the monthly schedules they upload, so their viewers know when to tune in

KaraOni

Oh! Continuation cause I have more thoughts. I do think it hurts to have things on another channel because YouTube might hide community posts where you mention them or people might not see you have a second channel. If I didn't have Patreon and Discord I wouldn't know you were posting Game of Thrones cause I didn't follow your second channel before. (my anime days have passed sorry ♥️) I guess what I'm trying to say is that YouTube is not great at letting people know you have other channels so to me it makes more sense to keep everything in one place

Daniela V.

I think DylanIsInTrouble also used to do music reactions and then switched to movies but I can't remember if he switched channels or kept the og and just archived all his music videos

Daniela V.

I think you're leaving out a huge aspect of this and it's that people aren't watching you for kpop or for anime or for shows. They're watching you for YOU watching kpop, for YOU watching anime, for YOU watching shows. I genuinely think personality can overcome a lot when it comes to YouTube channels. There's channels that start doing content I'm not really a fan of but because I like their personality so much I will watch anyways. I do think having everything in one place would be easier. Sometimes I want to find certain reactions and it's hard because I don't know what channel they're on. I also don't think you post enough for this to be a problem. That's not a dig btw, you're never gonna be uploading 20 videos a day and if you did I would be very concerned. So I think people can live with a little anime or a little game of thrones on their subscription pages. That being said maybe anthonytoopiece? Or is that too long. I really like both tbh. Maybe have your username as anthonytoo and then too piece as your display name?

Daniela V.

I absolutely love Blind Wave but them uploading so much is the reason I can't sub to them. It just fills up my subscription box which I actually really care about. That being said, I check on their channel very often to see if they're posting something I'm interested in and will keep up with the schedule!

Daniela V.

every time you ask about this stuff, i try to wrap my head around it just to give some opinions, but it's so difficult bc everything is so unique from creator to creator & i don't even know of many creators that react to all of that at once... and if they do, they don't post it all on youtube lol. in my head, if i was you, what would make the most sense is having a channel for all the music & a channel for all the tv/anime/kdrama. BUT i don't think that's so much of me not thinking an all in one channel could work, as much as it is a reflection of my need to have things neat & organized irl lmao. anyways, i watch it all, so having it all in one place is fine by me as a viewer. i do think an all in one channel could work, if that's what you really want. not having the subscribers spread out into multiple channels can only be a good thing, right? i don't think you're going to lose subscribers from doing that, the only problems that come to mind are bringing over the subscribers you've already gained on twopiece. excited for the fashion videos btw <3

chelsey

blindwave (joined yt in 2008 compared to rttv starting in 2016) is another channel thats does western shows & animations as well as jpn anime & kdrama then VERY recently bridged into kpop content (yet not k-variety), i personally dont mind if you merge channels since im subscribed to both and watch kpop stuff + reactions to western fantasy media and occasionally certain types of anime. im not huge into shounen anime (aot, dbz, naruto, one piece, dandadan etc etc) as i think shounen/shōnen anime gets stale after the second season so i tend to ignore reactions to it. Yet knowing the fandom mentality of pure anime fans and pure kpop fans they rarely like seeing other fandom in their feed unless they consume content from both, so id say keep them apart. the speed youre uploading at on both channels, for me, is very palatable compared to blindwave who is uploading 3 to 4 different show/movie once a day, daily per week reactions to youtube. i also like having genre’s segmented so having a k-variety channel and a western + anime channel works well, it can be done, but i think what works for both blindwave & rt tv’s communities is posting a monthly schedule of what reaction uploads are going up on what day of the week in advance, if you want to merge the channels i think you should post a monthly schedule like what show or mv reaction is going up on what day to not deter either fandom of these medias from not engaging with videos

KaraOni

which channels have you seen do music + the other things? I have that message all the time saying I didn't even know you had another channel and whatnot.

anthonytoo

aye i aint wanna move lmao this ish just a mess! thanks for your thoughtss

anthonytoo

thanks heather! just appreciate the opinions fr!

anthonytoo

I see where you’re coming from with how managing can get. If it will help you lessen stress, just combine friend. There is no reason you can’t put all you like on one channel. to maybe help organize things is u could start creating playlists to help people find what they may be looking for in certain content like how u do the collections on here. good luck on the home hunting again 🤞u stay movin 😂

Sham Sham

i personally don’t mind when channels have a mix of everything, if anything it kinda makes me want to watch the other stuff they have uploaded since it’s such a variety of things? It could definitely reach a broader audience that way like whenever you would upload the fashion videos I would watch even though I’m not too knowledgeable about it but now I can say they are some of my favorite videos you’ve put out just cause it’s different. I can’t speak for everyone but I think putting a mix would be cool but I also could understand the chaotic part of it that some people may not vibe with either. I’m not sure if my comment makes sense or helps but I hope the others can give clearer feedback and opinions😅💀

heather

I think moving it all to one channel is okay. I’ve seen others do that and it works. If possible I would create playlists to make it easier for people to watch what they want. You might get more crossover which would be great. I know personally that a lot of people have no idea the creator they are watching even has a second channel. Go with whatever feels easiest and right for you. Hope this comment helped. I will support whatever you decide. We know you work hard and we appreciate all you do 🤗

Michelle Lanie

pls share thoughts im losing my mind lol
