Fast forward to now, and I haven’t cooked anything in the past two months. 😔 I’m really excited to see you're watching Alchemy of Souls. I watched the first season when it first came out but never got around to watching part 2. If you continue and go further than I did, I’ll finally know how the series concludes I’ve been a bit busy and dealing with some health-related stuff, so I haven’t been tuning in as much as I’d like to. Looking forward to catching up on Demon Slayer during my downtime. Hope you’re doing well. Much love!

First two or three episodes are really trying to set the scene so it's understandable if it's confusing as everyone is trying learn and understand who's who, what happened, the magic, everything. I'm laughing at how you thought this is a period drama & didn't know it was fantasy. Tbh it has all the main genres; action, comedy, fantasy, romance, etc. the only aspect that makes is a period drama is the aesthetic, the environment, and caste/hierarchy system. The actual places and leadership reign/empires are all fake. Like you said, no Seoul but more like Songrim and their own leader, Park Jin. I get that these captions help with details including names but tbh there are some mistranslations. Like when Jang Gang at the start described soul shifting and when Jang Uk said "I'm pointless" when he was referring to Mudeok fetching more water as "your hard work was pointless". So maybe once you feel like you've gotten the names down, switch CC for more accurate translations? I also will suggest using clothing aesthetic to help identify their past selves bc they did not do a good job with casting look alikes for their younger selves lol but at least they're dressed the same way! Also, one correction I will make is that Jang Gang, Jang Uk's actual dad, was the one who blocked his gate of energy so he can't retrieve and use his energy for magic. They'll explain why he did rather than the king. Remember the king wanted a heir to the throne no matter what but seems like Jang Uk isn't which you'll see soon.

2024-09-08 18:07:20 +0000 UTCI honestly had no intentions of ever watching this simply because historical-type dramas are not something I tend to be able to get into. it's very very rare I like any drama (show, movie) with the genre being more on the historical side. But aye time to give it a try now. and being that this is supposed to be such a good drama I'm extending the time it has to catch my attention an extra ep, up to episode 4 😂 but first watch/first episode was pretty decent. the overall plot so far is pretty simple and the actors r doing their job so will tune in for ep 2. yeah this type of show it’s understandable to catch on late, now u just be confusing urself with the other dramas🤣 and no that was deff a whole different person in that flashback for Minhyun’s character reminiscing on the bird whistle 😂 naksus character too and same for the flashback of jangs son, with his younger version learning his energy is blocked. they didn’t even try to get a kid that looked like him even in the slightest lol. but I'm pretty sure the water dragon is naksu🧐 i mean from the transition to when the dragon first came down and her being in the same spot after the dragon disappeared made it seem like she is.

2024-09-08 14:24:34 +0000 UTCThis show is actually PEAK plss continue it 🙏🙏 Rundown incase you forget the characters in the next episode: Jang Uk is winter, aka the guy who wants Naksu to be his master and is also the son of the King who transfered his soul into the mages body. Mudeok is the assassin Naksu's new body, the blind girl. She's the main character. Park Dang-gu is summer, the blonde hair guy who's the nephew of Park Jin. Park Jin is the leader of seongrim with the majestic long hair and beard. Seo Yul is fall, the guy who made the bird whistle that Naksu carries on her. The actors name is Hwang Minhyun and he was a member of NU'est and Wanna One, as well as a host on Boys Planet. Jin Choyeon is Spring, the girl in pink who looked graceful. She only had one short scene this episode so we don't know anything about her, but the actress is Arin from OH MY GIRL.

But trust once I got past those, I was hooked and binged the whole thing!! part of me is sad that I didn't get into AOS when it was airing, but another part of me is glad I started it after S2 was finished!! This is probably the most beautiful kdrama I've seen, specifically w/ the special effects!! Im excited to see you watch this! especially after seeing how excited you got during the beginning scenes w/ Naksu!!
