Ok so your baby is pushing grabbing massaging and messing with your breasts while feeding and it’s weird right? It’s not. It’s actually an instinctual habit that babies and toddlers figure out to get more milk and faster letdowns.
It might be annoying to you, it might feel awkward but it is not a sexual thing at all in any way. This is a natural way for your baby to get their milk while making sure mommy has a good milk supply for them! It actually helps keep your milk ducts flowing with less blockage and less pain during feedings. It helps your breast stay abundantly full of milk and helps to extract the most amount of milk to empty your breast fully so you can continue to keep making plenty of life sustaining human milk for your little humans.
More milk out means more milk in (supply and demand) and as breastfeeding mothers that is exactly what we want!
So when your baby is doing this as portrayed in the examples above it is actually beneficial and nothing to worry about or feel weird about.
The more breastfeeding knowledge you learn and live on to teach others the more likely we can help normalize breastfeeding for the entire world much faster and be seen for the nurturing mothers that we are. #chestfeeding#equalrights
