HUN Chapter 9: Choosing the Ten Items of Equipment

The week-long boot camp came to an end amid tension and brutality.

From the initial twenty-plus candidates, through round after round of ruthless selection, only ten figures remained, still standing on this Rocky Mountain training ground.

Lin Yu'an was among them!

A large magnesium fire starter: The most reliable fire-starting tool, unaffected by moisture.

A single-handled stainless steel pot with lid: For boiling water, cooking food, melting snow. Stainless steel was durable and easy to clean.

A fishing kit containing various sizes of fishing line, hooks, and small lead weights: Chilko Lake had rich fishery resources, this was an important protein source.

A roll of high-strength paracord: Extremely versatile, essential for building shelters, making traps, binding items, and more.

A pack of salt: Not only could prevent hyponatremia and electrolyte imbalance that could affect nerve and muscle function, but could also be used to cure meat.

For the final piece of equipment, Lin Yu'an unhesitatingly chose an American hunting bow.

He could carry 10 arrows: 8 regular arrows and 2 bear-hunting arrows. It provided the ability to hunt large game from a distance, though it required extremely high skill, but could also hunt small game.
