CHAINSAW MAN: Movie FULL LENGTH Reaction!

CHAINSAW MAN: Movie FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

This was so good and so bittersweet! From the pool scene to Makima’s confrontation, you hit it on the head with how it is – it’s a Shakespearean tragedy, practically. Makima is so mysterious, though, I love her! I agree, I definitely think that Makima is manipulating Denji 100%! Her appearing with the rats is so creepy as well! I feel for Denji as well - he genuinely liked her and by the end, she genuinely loved him, too, but now Denji won’t know…because of Makima. Oof. And yes, Denji’s first two kisses have been pretty bad…third time’s a charm, maybe? The movie was so gorgeous visually, yes! AKIANGEL!!! YESSSS!! Still swooning over it as well! The ship has sailed! I cannot wait to see where we go from here! Thank you for the comment!

Oh awesome! Thank you for that info on Kenshi Yonezu! Ooohh, that’s really rough on Nomo recognizing her from that article! 😢 And YESSS, definitely aboard the AkiAngel ship 100%! I LOVE HALL AND OATES SO THAT’S AMAZING! LOOOOOOVE! Thank you for the comment and yes, so ready for the manga coming up at least!

I do agree that he made a conscious decision to like Makima - but Makima is very aware of that and doesn’t do anything to not manipulate the situation further for her advantage - like she did in season 1 and in their “date.” But yeah, I agreed with you in the discussion (not sure if you got to check it out) on this front with Reze and the idea of real vs. superficial love! Thanks for the comments!

Yessss, I love the parallels!! but seriously, Aki is so amazing! For him to risk 2 months of his lifespan to save a devil? We stan a character like him!

Romaniablack

Oohhh, yes, Makima wearing the watch on the inside is really good! Definitely character fitting!

Ooohhhh, I love that shot, too, and that symbolism of it seeming like a bomb is wild! That is such a good catch! My only thing on the Angel "math" is what is that based on? Do you have a link to that? Thanks for the comment!

I think my favorite shot of the entire film is on the roof after Reze kills the man. The plane overhead and the eyedrop falling towards her eye. It looks like a plane dropping on a bomb. It one of our hints before the reveal that Reze is the bomb devil. Somebody did the math online you can touch Angel for roughly 35 minutes before dying.

This movie surprised me a lot. See, my brother went to the movies to watch it because he's read the manga and he was really hyped up about it. I didn't. After so long, my Chainsaw Man excitement had died down significantly, and I didn't think it would be too worthy to be watched in the big screen... boy, I kinda regret that. I ended up really loving this little arc. Reze's story is so bittersweet - something that the music captures spectacularly with that pool theme being so hopeful and sweet, but also sad and depressing in a wonderful mix - and I was devastated that Makima kills her in the end. I mean, it makes sense that it would end as it did, I don't think that I ever expected something different, but it was still so devastating to see it happening. Gosh, Makima just becomes more and more of an enigma with every passing chapter and arc. That whole date that Makima has with Denji had me in such high alert. The fact that Makima had the exact same reaction to the movies as Denji did is SO suspicious to me, there's little doubt in my mind that she was manipulating him so that he would relate to her, because they had the same opinions in each and every movie, and cried in the same scene of the same movie. She's such an expert manipulator I doubt that was all a coincidence. Don't get me started on that Aki/Angel scene, with him rescuing him from being blown away and hugging him at the end. UGH! I was swooning over it. I'm still swooning over it. And then Angel doesn't bring Aki, as Makima requested, to kill Reze... yeah, no, that ship has sailed for me. The visuals of this movie are great, too. It all looks so smooth and vibrant. Makima is the creepiest, I swear. The way she just appeared from all the rats... what? I have so many questions about everything about her. I feel so bad for Denji now, though. He genuinely liked Reze, and for all the manipulation that she herself did to Denji, the fact remains that in the end she was willing to have something real with him, and now Denji won't even know about that. Also, will Denji ever be able to have a kiss that isn't just the worst? First Himeno, and now Reze biting his tongue out? Nope. I wouldn't want to kiss anyone ever again after those two terrible experiences. I don't know where we go to from here, but I'm not sure that there will come an arc that I like best than this one, at least not emotionally speaking. Yes, I'm sure getting all the answers will be amazing, but this one felt very strongly emotional, and I do love me a good emotional arc.

To answer your question about the singer of the OP: Kenshi Yonezu who sung the OP for the anime ('Kick Back') is the one who sings the OP in the movie as well. Btw, he's also the male voice singing the movie ED! (Not so) fun fact — that I got by reading people's opinions about this movie — when Nomo was saying that he thought he'd seen Reze somewhere before and then was like “Nah, that can't be” I'm pretty sure it's because he saw pictures of the orphans that were experimented upon (Kishibe talks about it being in the news) and Reze was among them... her and Denji really had it rough :( So glad you're aboard the Akiangel ship! I love them too. A song that has is often associated with them is 'Out of Touch' by Daryl Hall & John Oates, notably the following lyrics; “You're out of touch I'm out of time But I'm out of my head When you're not around” Can't wait for more videos about CSM, be it the anime or the manga volumes!

My opinion on Denjis feelings toward makima vs reze. Is that Denjis love for makima was a decision he made consciously , at first he was weary of makima, he even considered running away from her. But since makima was a beautiful women and the first person in his life to treat him with the bare minimum level of kindness he decides to cling to her and make her the one he loves. Vs his feelings for reze come out of nowhere almost, it all happens so naturally that he doesn’t even know what’s really happening, he says multiple times in the movie that his body is moving on its own or him blurting out things like “I wish I could have gone to school with you.” To me this shows that reze was the first person he fell in love with naturally and actually had chemistry with. While imo makima is the superficial surface level love and reze was the real love and the one who had his heart.

Angel devil: “I’m a devil I think humans should suffer when they die Aki in season 1: “ I think devils should suffer when they die” I mean cmon these ships sail themselves. Love akis character so much even though he hates devils he such an empathic character that he loses 2 months of his lifespan to save one.🥲

One small detail I immediately noticed when I watched the movie for the first time in theaters is how makima wears her watch facing the inside of her wrist. It’s hard to put in words why but I feel like She is totally the type of person to do that😂. So I feel like that detail was very fitting to who she is as a character.
