Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: Episode 7 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

I really enjoyed this episode so much, but this season has been so fun so far! I love Hakari so much! His “conversation” with Kirara and the cement marker was so much fun! Come on, Megumi, let him be your new “best Friendo!” I did love this episode so much, even as set up! Kenjaku with Yuuji’s middle school friends is SUCH a trip! I agree, them leading the people inside the Culling Games to safety is crazy – I’m curious what will happen with them all down the road, if anything! The cliffhanger was done so well this week! Such a good final moment! I’m excited to see where it goes to as well! Thank you for the comment!

Gosh, this episode was a trip in the best way possible. Hakari is hilarious, I swear. I laughed so hard at his little bit of talking to the cement and then trying to get into the good graces of Megumi, lol. Even though this episode is a lot of set-up, I think it's just nice to see the characters interacting and seeing the dynamics that we can get from them. Just, a lot of fun. Kenjaku getting Yuuji's old Ocult Club classmate is such a tripy moment, I didn't remember her either until she mentions Yuuji by name and then I made the connection! It's interesting to see Kenjaku having to lead people to safesty. If I remember correctly, one of the caviats of the Culling Game was that non-sorcerers that livid in the colonies were going to be given the option to leave, and it seems that Kenjaku had to do the job himself; and what better way to do it than through a dream-like state. I really loves how they did the cliffhanger of this episode! Having the screen split in the middle and having both of the guys saying where Higuruma is supposed to be at the same time is a really good setting. I can't wait to see how they handle the rest of this season, because so far it has been really good.

Look, I would not turn down Suwabe speaking – you know they’re saving him for later (probably/hopefully this season) and it will be glorious (and probably the worst timing) when he shows up, but I’m glad the cosplay worked out for this week as well! 😀 Yesssss, I almost didn’t recognize Kenjaku’s voice at first, because Sakurai has dropped the way that “Geto” talked to play Kenjaku - it’s REALLY a masterful little detail to have, now. And yeah, my thought is that Kenjaku had to make it to where you CAN leave safely, but if you go back in, that’s on you. Nothing ominous about that AT ALL. I wonder if Kenjaku felt that Sasaki might be more inclined to try and visit Yuuji over Iguichi? Or, he’s trying to set his son up with someone and doesn’t realize Yuuji’s bisexual. 😛 Speaking of Yuuji, his moment with Panda was really heartfelt - I want to hug both of them! And that is such a fun reference to Princess Mononoke! Hakari really won me over in this episode - him and Kirara were adorable. Speaking of Adorable - YES! Give me the Kogane plush NOW, please. AND SCRAPS from Corpse Bride - YES! He definitely looks like it, too! Megumi and Maki are wasting no time taking advantage of breaking convention within the Zenin clan! That IS a great point to bring up with Maki and her treatment of the clan – the people that are trying to make Maki out as a villain – I just – *LE SIGH* Anyway, that’s also a great point to note about Megumi and his sword from the shadows! Who needs a worm when you can do that?! The conversation of how wartime and time periods affect mindsets was really engaging as well; agreed! I am 100% here for the shipping content we’re getting with Yuuji and Megumi, here! Definitely married vibes! And yesss, new SatoSugu comparisons! It’s SO like them! And Panda is the new Yaga! Yes! Akutami knows what he is doing, 100%! No, I really love Morally Grey Megumi! I’m going to be VERY curious to see which is the “correct” answer from the end of this episode, and that’s really good to know about the distance between the two locations. Thank you for the update on the other characters I missed as well, haha!! Ahhh, okay, so different vibes for Hiromi’s – well, it’s JJK, so that makes sense! XD I doubt that this guy that looks super ominous is selling flowers to Culling Games participants! I hadn’t considered all the possibilities for Amai being there - given his VA, he’s either going to be a total misunderstood sweetheart, or a secret villain…OR BOTH! *nervously laughs into oblivion* And yes, I know that Remi is not the Worm reincarnated, but the hair? The dress color? The way she was posing on the ground looking JUST LIKE THAT WITH GETO, as you noted? I can’t unsee it - my head crack from now on. If she pulls a weapon out of her mouth, it’s OVER. XD Thank you for the comment and kind words! It’ll be sad with JJK on break this week, but 8 is my lucky number, so we shall see!

Romaniablack

Yessss! Someone noted that on the Discord -- that's actually hilarious and so fitting for JJK to make a pop culture reference. Also, good for Hakari for being someone of culture - Princess Mononoke is such a good fill! "A little small movie" hahaha -- seriously, I need to rewatch that movie now, as well! Thank you for the comment!

Romaniablack

I read on Japanese Twitter when Hikari says he hasn’t been this bummed since yakul. He’s referring to a character in a little small movie call princess Mononoke. The deer who main character rides lol. Such a cute cultural reference. I gotta rewatch that now

Issac

Yes! I talked at the end of the video that I knew, but thank you for letting me know!

Romaniablack

Also if you're not aware there's no JJK this week as it'll be a recap and will continue on 26th

Absolutely loving the Sukuna-on-his-holidays cosplay 😂 But I do love that we actually got a Sukuna mention this episode when you chose to cosplay him...my bias is speaking for me though when I say it would have been perfect in my eyes if we'd gotten some dialogue from him 😆 Hats off to Sakurai for changing his intonation when voicing Kenjaku, now that Kenjaku no longer needs to play act as Geto. And the voice for Kenjaku definitely gave me warning chills. It kinda terrifies me that Sasaki had to trust Kenjaku to leave the Sendai Colony, but at the same time I do trust that what Kenjaku said was true because it seemed like the creation of the barriers for the colonies works like a pact. My fear though is in him saying they can leave just once, but is there anything stopping people from going back inside and then being stuck there? 😬 Also is Kenjaku sexist or something? Iguchi and Sasaki were both Itadori's senpai, and Iguchi even seemed to know more about Itadori's Middle School days than Sasaki (he's the one that told Sasaki about all the wild rumours going around about Itadori that made him pretty famous at school). But Kenjaku only mentioned their son to Sasaki 🤔 Panda taking a moment to console Itadori and make sure he knew that Yaga didn't die at Yaga's hands just made his death all the more tragic for me. But I love Itadori's response. Whether it was at Sukuna's or the higher ups' hands, Yaga is dead and Panda has lost his father 🥺 I had to pause when watching to laugh my ass off at Hakari. "Yakul got shot in the ass" is referencing a scene from Princess Mononoke; Yakul being Ashitaka's pet/mount. That plus all his cute moments definitely made me love Hakari as a character this episode 😂 Fushiguro has had the power of the Zenin Clan for all of five minutes and has already learned to use it to his advantage. I reckon Maki would be so proud of him for using it as a bargaining chip with Hakari 😂 Also yay to them finally giving us some timeline stuff, but honestly I feel like they could have given this to us by putting a date on the notice about the Zenin Clan in 3x04. When we get back to Itadori and Fushiguro in 3x05 they tell us what date it is and how long it took them to get to Hakari from being with Tengen. If we'd gotten a date in 3x04 then we'd have known that the massacre took place after Itadori meets Hakari. Another little thing I'd like to point out about the message saying that the Zenin Clan was exterminated is a teeny issue I have with the translation. So the kanji they use in the Japanese is not the kanji for "extermination" (that kanji would be 絶滅/zetsumetsu), whereas 壊滅/kaimetsu (the kanji that they do use) means annihilation or devastation instead. Its a very minor difference but there is still a difference in the meaning of extermination versus annihilation. And for me it is enough of a difference considering there's already been talk amongst the fans about if Maki killed the women and children of the clan too. That would be extermination. Whereas if Maki just destroyed those from the specific groups within the Zenin Clan and brought the clan as a whole to defeat, that would be annihilation. Kogane is adorable and I want a plush of it! 🥺 Please and thank you Jujutsu Kaisen merch team 🙏 My ItaFushi shipper heart really enjoyed Itadori just brushing off Kogane only being attached to him and telling it to answer Fushiguro. Giving me married vibes with: what's mine is yours 🥰 But then for them to give us a new generation version of the SatoSugu gym scene? 😍 Like even the way Itadori and Fushiguro were standing off against each other was just like how Gojo and Geto were acting before Yaga interrupted them. And for it to be Yaga's son, Panda, interrupting ItaFushi just completes them as being the new generation 🥰 Now, Akutami that is NOT giving you the go ahead to break my heart. SatoSugu's love story is enough romance angst for me! I do love them bringing up how someone raised in a different time period, and potentially a war-torn time, would have a different moral standard and view on the sanctity of life. I do have to praise Akutami for being able to weave these little moments of realism so naturally with the more fantastical elements of his story. Itadori's brain: they're less sturdy the further away you are from the hair on their head > furthest place from helicopter's head? His other head 🤣 Oh please never change Itadori! Fushiguro's sword I think he could have gotten from within his shadows. If you remember when he and Maki were fighting Hanami in Season 1 he pulled out stored weapons to switch out with Maki. Is it wrong of me to love seeing this morally grey side of Fushiguro? 😅 But the show is not being subtle; two paths laid out in front of Fushiguro, just like he has the choice to kill or not kill. And once again making us see Itadori and Fushiguro on different paths. They've even got their chosen guides in opposing colours: Amai in green like the green path, and Remi in magenta, similar to the red path. I feel like one of them is telling the truth, but I'm unsure which to trust. The body language of Amai when he greeted Itadori feels a bit off, while Remi (at face value) seems untrustworthy with how she keeps switching up how she acts and speaks towards Fushiguro and seems much more sly. Also it's a decent enough distance between Ikebukuro and Shinjuku [think it's around three miles], all the more so as I doubt public transport is running in the colony. We've heard and seen nothing about Inumaki since the glimpse we got of him at the end of Season 2. For the assistant managers: Ijichi is currently with Ieiri; Nitta (the blonde assistant manager who was with Kugisaki in Shibuya) we haven't seen or heard anything about, and its the same with her brother, Arata (the one who was dressed like a butler that arrived in Shibuya with Todo). We also don't know if anyone from Geto's old group survived Shibuya. And there's also been no mention of what Uraume is up to. Glad I was not the only one to think Kogane gave off Tim Burton-vibes. It was giving me a mix of Zero from Nightmare Before Christmas and Scraps from Corpse Bride 😂 You also thought of Shadow from SK8 for Higuruma's first name! Trukk was laughing at me in the discord because I saw the name Hiromi and it made me immediately think of him too 😆 Though I did check afterwards and the kanji used for their two Hiromi names are different, so Higuruma's means something different (but I don't want to look it up and get spoilers). I've thought of several possibilities for why Amai is in the colony. Itadori's school was in Sendai and it was the Sendai Colony that Iguchi and Sasaki were given the choice to leave. The colony that Itadori and Amai (as well as Fushiguro and Remi) are at is Colony 1 in Tokyo. So the first possibility is that Amai was in Tokyo at the time when the barriers creating the colonies went up and he chose to remain rather than leave. Second possibility is that Amai is somehow a player and so wasn't given the chance to leave the Tokyo Colony 1. And the third possibility is that he left the Sendai Colony by choice on the 1st November (when Sasaki and Iguchi left), but then chose to come to Tokyo and enter Tokyo Colony 1 for whatever reason. I did not consider the idea of Remi being a manifestation of the Worm, but now that you've said it I can definitely see the possibility. The colour of her dress, if I'm not mistaken, is the same colour as the Worm's flesh. Also the way she's posing on the ground when she first meets Fushiguro is giving me flashbacks to Hidden Inventory Arc when the Worm approached Geto and called him Mama... Couple of new seiyuu this episode: Amai (pudding head who knows Itadori) is voiced by Souma Saito. He's also the seiyuu for Yamaguchi from Haikyuu!! and Moriarty from Yuukoku no Moriarty 🥰 Hanyu/Kim Possible is (was? [not sure if Itadori took her out and she was just here for this moment]) voiced by Takeuchi Junko who is the seiyuu for Naruto.
