CHIHAYAFURU Season 2 Episode 15 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Every time I think Chihayafuru is going to falter, it most certainly does not! The set up for the finals is SO good this week! At least with the recap episode, I realized, there’ll be some bonus animated scenes! That is SUCH a good point about Chihaya having made the first years be ready to play is such a great point to make! I’m glad you brought that up! And yessssss, that’s such a good point about that comparison and for Shinobu to see! That’s a great point as well! Multiplying that strength is so important! YES! Any time someone brings up Oikawa, I live! 😀 We’ll see what Shinobu gets out of watching this game! 😀 The miscommunication in this episode made me want to spin in the floor, but I’m glad it’s getting worked out! I also love Arata’s moments like you pointed out, here! Also, mangaka, you are CRUEL for not letting these friends see each other! *sweats* Sakurazawa is sooooo good - I agree, INSTANT respect for her! I admire her a lot already. Ooohhhh Faye Valentine’s VA! Yesss, I can TOTALLY hear that voice, now! 😀 Thank you for that tidbit! I’m with you, I don’t know how this match will work out - I hope that Taichi pulls out of his rut and that everyone does well, but this match is going to just make me sweat, that’s for sure! Thank you so much for the comment!

I really am hyped for the match up we have with the final! Hahahaha, I am glad I was proven wrong already with this matchup! That is a fair point about him being reactive with his insecurities and it comes across as being a “white knight” based on how closed off he’s making himself. Fair point! I agree that jamming a finger sucks – not a fun time! If you’ve been on my channel long or seen many shows with me, miscommunication is one of my least favorite tropes (as a communications major hahaha), so I’m going to be frustrated when it happens. I really like Sakurazawa as a coach; she is FIERCE already and I love her. As a coach myself, she is inspiring! I’m rooting for Makoto and Rion! Hahaha! I’m excited to see how all the matchups this season will go down, and yes, Taichi - my dude - just don’t compare Eromu to Arata…they are NOT the same and that’s not good for you. Thanks for the comment!

This was a great episode and what exciting matchups we have!!. When you said last week that the Fujisaki match was probably going to be standard I was like well we'll see next week if she feels the same way and Im glad you've had the revelation we had watching this episode of ooh all the matchups are really good Someone said it on YT and I agree with them that Taichi does not strike me as a person who is deliberately stoic and trying to play the white knight. He is a reactive person and so he just responds to what is happening around him. I think in season 1 he was alot more deliberate with his lack of action or taking action for example the eating from the spoon and wanting to hold her hand but not doing it etc but I think his actions this season are more spontaneous and impetuous since his insecurities have grown. For example when he grabs her hand last episode Tsutomu is speaking about their game plan and so while apart of it is that he is being bashful and hesitant it wouldnt be the right timing to have a romantic moment with Chihaya and the same with during Tsutomu's match. Kana jamming her finger gave me flashbacks to the two times Ive jammed my finger that is painful. Even if it was for himself Im glad Tsukuba spoke up because I feel like Kana wouldnt have revealed she was hurt if he hadn't. You getting upset over the Arata misunderstanding was funny. Its a trivial misunderstanding when you really think about it but its still frustrating in the moment but the series does well with it. No shade to Empress but Sakurazawa is my favorite coach/mentor in the anime. Sakurazawa switching in Rion to fire up the one twin and the third years in general since they will be heavily relied on for the win- very smart move. I will say that even though it's a conflict of interest - being familiar with the reader like we've seen with Chihaya in season 1 and Hokuo with Sudo it can only get you so far the player would still need to have the techniques down to fully utilize that advantage and even though Hokuo had Sudo as reader it was still a pretty close game. The cards are heavily stacked against Chihaya tho so we'll have to see what happens. Rion x Makoto is such a hilarious ship I hope it's not a crack ship - Rion's character type is known as a kuudere - a character that doesnt show emotions and feel robotic so a tsundere and a kuudere is interesting. My top 3 matchups that intrigue me and Im really excited to see what happens are Chihaya vs Rion Taichi vs Eromu and Makoto vs Tsutomu in that order. It's interesting to think that you have two Class B players against Class A players with Taichi and Rion against Eromu and Chihaya. Similarly I want Taichi to get out of his head and to stop comparing Eromu to Arata because while I get that this is a mental hurdle he needs to overcome for himself which Im glad he's challenging himself that's already growth for Taichi to enter a matchup he might lose I dont think it's productive to compare the two and he might put Eromu on this pedestal that proves counterproductive and more stressful. Im looking forward to the next episode and Im sending Taichi and Chihaya all the good vibes so they win.

Will there ever be a week when Chihayafuru isn't just absolutely brilliant? So far, the answer seems to be no. I really love all the little pieces that are put into motion in this episode. It's a great set-up for the match... and it kinda sucks that it's rhythm will be broken for a recap episode xD On the subject of Kana jamming her finger, something she says that struck me was "we have the first years," when talking about it been good that it was her who got hurt, in the sense that they can sub them and they can continue playing; and it strucks me because if it wasn't for Chihaya, they wouldn't have had those first years ready to play, they would have been too inexperience to be any help. It would have sucked so much, to come all the way here, to the finals, and have to be handicap because they're lacking one player. The previous year ir wasn't so bad, because Chihaya got sick pretty early on in the tournament, and it still hurt, but now it would have been crushing. I just really like that it's thanks to Chihaya's persistance that they have this opportunity now, and wish that someone would acknowledge it to her as well. Speaking of which, Chihaya saying that it's a lot harder to want become the best in Japan together rather than alone is something that I want her to say to Shinobu. Of course, becoming the Queen is an amazing accomplishment and speaks to the strengths of the individual, but I have to agree with Chihaya that trying to raise the abilities of the whole team so that they together can become the best requires a completely different set of skills and dedication. It reminds me of Haikyuu, too, and how Aoba Josai, Oikawa, say that the best team isn't the team that only has strong players, but the team that can multiply that strength, the individuals strength, by the strength of the six players in the team. And, who knows, maybe now that Shinobu is watching the game (!) she will be able to see Chihaya's passion and come to some conclussions of her own. Gosh, I was SO frustrated when Arata's mentor (?) came to Retro-kun and told him that Arata had come to cheer him and his team; not only because Retro-kun doesn't say anything to contradict him, which I can sort of get as the guy left pretty quickly, but also because I thought he had left those preconceived biases after seeing Misuzawa play and realize who Arata had come to see play... but it seems I was wrong. Thankfully, Retro-kun went and told Arata about it. Arata's reaction was amazing. The way he just can't help himself and springs into action, desperate to go and see his friends play the finals is simply beautiful. But it does frustrate me that he stops himself and desn't go. I understand that he wants to fulfill his time, I get it, and I think it's the right thing to do, but, man, it burns so much that they can see each other again and he can't cheer for them. Fujisaki's coach is AMAZING and she gained my respect immediately with her introespective reasoning to taking one fo the twins out of the finals. Maybe it would be good if she was a little less stony and vocalized it a little more, but I do like her pragmatism. Also, fun fact, the moment I focused and actually heard her speak something in my brain just went off. I had to look up her VA, and I remember that it was mentioned that she was the same VA that does Rei from Neon Genesis, but I've been watching Cowboy Bebop for the first time recently and her voice just screamed at me that she was Faye Valentine, and lo and behold, I was right. I love it. Just a fun little fact for me. i don't know how the match against Fujisaki will go, but I do hope that Taichi will concentrate and not get completely distracted by thinking about Arata T_T I need my boy to pull through and show the breadth of his skills. Honestly, at this point, I think that the specter of Arata, just thinking that he is around is doing more of a number on Taichi than if he was just able to talk to him and get it over with.
